I honestly don't really understand the hate. in my opinion its just as good, if not better than the dark descent, only problem I have is that you can only hold a limited amount of oil and matches. if there wasn't a limit like how it was in the original game, I'd think this would be great!

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Yeah, the game mechanics for the enemies were not great. I am surprised that I survived the Wraith, what with how bad my progress was going with enemies. It doesn't help that the darkness and severe lack of reliable light sources compounded the frustration. The items portion of the game felt minimally used; if I recall correctly, there was only one instance where two items needed to be combined. Still, the sound design, level layout, and general atmosphere was hard not to stay immersed. It's commendable, even breath-taking at points. Truly Lovecraftian, the way that I was overwhelmed with the bizarre nature of everything that I was seeing. The concept of the story and what the main character has to go through makes it pretty spectacular, even with the janky design of the enemies. I still found myself screaming at times. That being said, I do hope that Amnesia: The Bunker has better enemy gameplay.
first amnesia is okay "the bunker is a masterpiece and while this game has some great moments the narrative heavy and baby segments grew so dull so quick.
Don't you hate it when you have to run from monsters while spontaneously pregnant? Fantastic game in my opinion. Tense, interesting, fun vibes. I really enjoyed the desert explorer atmosphere, unique from the other amnesia games. Gameplay was what you'd expect from frictional, but engaging nonetheless. I appreciated the whole 'pregnancy' mechanics, added quite a unique flavor that made this game memorable and stand out from the rest. Story was great, felt like it often shifted from Indiana Jones to Spore. Overall a very fun experience. Not game of the year, but absolutely worth a playthrough for any horror fan. 7/10
While I believe that the game is good, it is also the weakest entry in the series thus far. Most of the locations do not hold candle compared to the Brennenburg Castle, and the story does not reach the heights the previous titles. Also, the heroine yaps way too much. Still, the locations are varied and nice to look at, encounters can are tense, the voice acting is still really good and the callbacks to the original were nice. So overall, it’s alright.
jogo muito chato. Deus me livre
Don't listen to the other reviews. This game is great. I wouldn't recommend it at full price (along with every other amnesia game besides bunker), but its a really awesome game. It has a very compelling story and does a great job carrying on from Dark Descent. A lot of people love to dog on every other Amnesia game because it wasn't an exact replica of Dark Descent that decided to do something actually innovative and different, but I would say there isn't a "bad" Amnesia game. I don't mind the fact they decided to go for a more story-heavy designed game, since the gameplay for these games have never been the most exciting adrenaline pumping gameplay to ever be made and it really is just walk around and pull levers. I haven't finished it, but at this point I think that this game couldn't be ruined for me, even if the ending is the worst ending in video game history. 8/10, great game.
It's difficult to determine whether or not I'd recommend this as I'm already having some gripes with it even within the first two hours of gameplay. Namely, I find it to be too linear. I haven't finished the Dark Descent as I was curious about this lesser-known part of the series, but one of the main things I enjoyed about it so far was the fact that even early on I am able to explore for collectibles (although maybe this changes later). With Rebirth, I have to be careful to make sure I'm not going in the 'progress' direction as the game will suddenly decide to either have Tasi fall down a hole or have a tunnel cave-in such that I'm not able to go back in to a previous area. This might change further on, but I checked a walkthrough and I managed to miss so much by accidentally wandering in the correct direction with virtually no light--and therefore a dwindling sanity meter that makes back-tracking a bad decision, even when it is possible. Sometimes it is clear that you are going in a progress direction (ex. an already lit area or a cave-in blocking off one option in a forked path), but sometimes you are just crawling in a cramped tunnel system or the poorly lit other-world. However, I will grant that maybe this is a skill issue of accidentally wasting my matches too early? Based on atmosphere so far, I will hesitantly recommend this, but my opinion may change if the game keeps doing this.
Great story, visuals, and world-building - a huge improvement from AMFP.
