Oh boy, do I have a tale to share about the cosmic calamity that is Alien life simulator! Imagine being an alien in a rogue-lite game, tasked with clearing out small exotic maps. Sounds like fun, right? Well, brace yourself for an extraterrestrial adventure that's as wacky as it is addictive. The game play itself is an absolute riot. Every time you start a new game, you'll find yourself in a map with randomly generated weapon load-outs and power buffs, ready to cause some interstellar mayhem. The weapons at your disposal are nothing short of fun. Here, you'll be wielding weapons that damage output are based on your emotions. if your run out of the type of emotion your weapon uses it's damage output is reduced significantly, forcing you to be constantly be switching and try guns with different game play mechanics. All around the map you explore are power ups that can make you alien gain more viability in your play through so you don't die, which you'll want to look out for since it is a rogue-lite meaning death makes you start over. Overall i enjoyed the game as i played through it and look forward to it continued development.
a lot of jank (especially if you get crazy with the move speed) but a fun little game when you dont want to think too hard. I wish there was a way to improve the upgrades with stat points or something like that. At this price point though, a great little game for a few runs here and there. *Note, the camera is very different than other games, it take a bit to get used to. I reduced mouse sensitivity by a lot to make it comfortable. Once you play a few runs you adjust though
Great game, but still a few bugs need ironing out. Main gripe for me is that the key mapping changes I made to "interact" don't seem to work and it remains 'F' no matter what it's set to.
This game is a ton of fun! Its really cool to create new builds each run and try out different things! Highly recommend!
New update = new fun!
This game is pretty good at a fair price. This has the makings of being an addicting survivor game that you can pick up and play easily. So far, I've been able to play through the first level and beat it on the second try, but it was a bit tough. The game is fast paced, but you get into a rhythm and evade the enemies. I think overall, the game is good, and will need continued balancing and could use a bit more game juice. Definitely looking forward to continuing to play this
Pretty fun! i love the random buffs and the survival aspect.
Edit to the Developer response: The reason I said I could not progress is because during the first part of the game before the first "Warp" so to speak, you get a gate key (Hack key? something.). There is NO other information that I saw on screen that denoted anything else would open a gate. So when I got that in the second area again, by previous information available to me, yes, I should have been able to open a gate, since that's what was available to me via information. (Redoing the review, I see that the Gate Cracker item stays in your inventory if you have ZERO of them, which is what threw me off originally.) Also nowhere did it say I could have returned to the city if I fell off the platform. Common gaming knowledge is to NOT fall off platforms, or it's game over. That's a pretty bad design decision, IMO. I will make another singular video and pick this game apart at my leisure. New review video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTeHnBShy-4 I'm not changing my review recommendation decision until this game is polished up some more. Solid foundation but I can't recommend buying at this time. I am finished with this game at the moment. Previous review: At the time of writing, this game seems to be bugged? I could not progress through another gate even though I had a key for it. Simple game but due to progression bugs I'm gonna have to not recommend this game at the moment. I have played the game since early access and this is by far the best state the game has ever been in!
As for someone who hasn't really been playing roguelite shooters, this fast-paced game was surprisingly fun. The game had a good balance of difficulty, not too easy that it still felt rewarding to kill the monsters. Options of guns were cool and terrains nicely coloured.
