Lenny is my kind of idiot. A fun puzzle game with the quirk of Ratchet & Clank, with loads of buttons to be-a pressing. The dev also livestreams playthroughs in spandex, cheeky
Personally I don't recommend this game. Below I have shared my opinion Positive: - I liked the novelty of solving the puzzles by watching monitors and giving commands via a control panel. Neutral: - The puzzles involve navigating a maze while avoiding bad guys Negative: - The overall audio and visual presentation was poor.
A very enjoyable experience and one I would heartily recommend to any VR puzzle conundrum fans out there! Visually for an indie its very attractive! It's often challenging but rewarding as a game and I found myself getting more and more attached to poor Lenny! I have made many many mistakes which have resulted in the poor guy getting roasted, blown up, eaten... Also, does Lenny have any kids because the dad jokes are EVERYWHERE... Keen to see what these guys do next!
I love Lenny! He's my kinda guy...funny, smart...vulnerable... I've played a few VR games over the eyars and this was the first one that felt novel and not trying to jump on a gimmick or bandwagon. Loved the mix of comedy and strategy. Hard but simple enough to understand how to get better. Keep them comin' Crooks Peak!!
Lenny is a great character! Really enjoyed the game. Very fun and lighthearted. Puzzles felt good. Need more games like this.
After playing the first three level packs, I think the initial idea was good on paper. Sadly, it doesn't translate to a fun game. Standing in front of a desk and pushing buttons is a good start for a VR game. The interaction would immerse you - if there was any significant fiddling with the controls. Here, we just have push-buttons and a joystick. The buttons are too easy to press twice, and you need to hold the trigger to move the joystick - having the index's grab work would have been nice. So, the interaction isn't great. What about the game play? It's "Escort Mission" the VR game. Lenny needs to be told where to go. You need to check with the cameras and map view where aliens or other dangers are, and lead him along. That's interesting enough for a few levels, but it gets annoying fast. Now, I don't terribly mind simple graphics, but looking at the low quality textures of the security cameras and the map, I really begin to question why this game would need VR at all. All I'm doing is pressing buttons, which would be easier on a keyboard. All I'm seeing is pixelated 3D or a simple 2D Map. You are in the same room, standing on the same console with slightly different buttons. Nothing about this requires VR. A "Simon says" minigame as the boss battle doesn't convince me otherwise. Coordinating enough between static cameras, timed flamethrowers, the map view and the actual button presses to maneuver Lenny to the exit isn't my idea of fun. If you want a light-hearted VR game where you do a desk-Job, play Job Simulator instead.
