I broke my pickaxe and ran out of money, and got softlocked.
i want to like it so so very badly, but sadly i just can't understand what is going on, and what i should be doing. maybe i'm just a fool and its easier than i think. theres no guides online, and only two videos on youtube. im making a video myself soon, so maybe information can be put into my comments, because i want to play this and enjoy it so badly :") im the kind of person where is something goes wrong in a game, i assume im the one at fault for being stupid. so i never tell whats a feature, and whats a bug. ⭕ great, fantastic, amazing art direction and visuals, absolutely amazing. i love weird, surreal and bizarre art games. this is a fantastic looking game if youre into weird stuff ⭕ you can take your eyes out. very cool! 〰️ you can cook in it, and it seems the best recipe for noobs is with three potatoes, however you can only plant in dirt blocks you find randomly, and also i never actually cooked bc i kept dying wwwwwwww. i assume this is how you make the bulk of your money, by feeding customers. but i havent experienced it. i will try again soon. 〰️ the art can be uncomfortable and jarring if you dont like the style. but i liked it a lot and i enjoy the uncomfortable feelings, so its good for me! ❌ gameplay itself is confusing, no direction as far as i picked up. i thought it would be a diner management rougelike-ish game? and i think it is that but. i dont know how to do it. ❌ save reloading is bugged (?) if i restart, i sometimes spawn in a different map/world that i saved in when loading back up. ❌tool durability. i hate tool durability in games, it adds a useless, filler gameplay loop and is not fun. the durability seems random, and there is no indication on when tools will break, and they break very quickly. to replace them. you must buy new ones, which brings to next point-- ❌ tools cost a lot, and the only way i could figure out to make money is to break resources, which drop silver coins, the currency. however, you dont earn anywhere near the amount of coins it costs to buy tool replacements, so if you run out of money, its over. most crop types need a different too to gather, such as knife, scythe, shovel. there are other tools, like guns, spear, sword for combat; and for resource gathering, pickaxe, axe. you need to carefully plan what tool you want to buy in the beginning, because you start with only 800 silver, and tools are 150 and up. seeds for crops are costly too, and add up quickly. you start with 6 pepper plants, but there is no recipe for pepper and pepper only. you at least start with one axe on the ground to pick up. ❌ mice do not die? they simply fade out when their health is gone, and come back with full health again. they can still hurt you when they are faded out, so. just run when you see them. they can, however, be quicker than you. good luck if they are. they are unforgiving strong, and you die after only 3 or four hits. they hold aggro for a long time, even if theyre no longer on the screen. when they give up seems random, because sometimes they give up when theyre still on the screen. i havent even tried to kill the other enemie types, to which ive seen two- a black mass monster, and a card man with ranged attacks.
very cool art style and game concept, also delivered on the update, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ GOAT.
The tutorial for this game falls short in a few key areas, making it harder to understand and get into the experience. The background music and sound design makes the playing quite dry and unengaging, which is a missed opportunity to set the right tone. I found myself wanting clearer guidance or more interactive elements to make the mechanics click. A stronger tutorial could go a long way in helping players appreciate the game’s full potential. Some atmospheric music, better feedback on player actions, or even optional hints might improve the onboarding experience. As it stands, the introduction doesn’t do justice to what the rest of the game might offer. I hope the developers consider addressing this in future updates, as first impressions matter!
