Alexandria Port of the Worlds von Kreis Immesive ist eine soziale Plattform um uns VR und 360°- Festivalfilme zu präsentieren. Alexandria bietet uns im aktuellen Zustand 3 sehr interessante und unterschiedliche Filme an. Diese müssen aber allerdings zuerst einmal herunter geladen werden. Ist das aber einmal geschehen, der download der Filme kostet nichts, können wir uns ca. 1h mit interessantem Content versorgen. Die Grafikqualität der Filme könnte, wie so oft, eine deutlich höhere Auflösungen vertragen. Ich habe aber auch schon viel schlechteres gesehen. Zudem gibt es noch die Möglichkeit, Welten anderer Anbieter zu besuchen. Bei meinem Test gab es tatsächlich eine, die ich auch besuchen konnte. Leider konnte ich die Filme die dort angeboten wurden nicht starten und blieb nur im schwarzen Nichts der VR-Brille stehen. Aber auch ohne dieses, hoffentlich bald gefixte feature, ist Alexandria eine tolle VR-Filmerfahrung, die ich nur empfehlen kann. Tolle Kamerafahrten in VR in schöner CGI, leider etwas unscharf. Eine Frauenstimme erzählt aus dem Off die Geschichte unseres Planeten im galaktischen Zeitraffer in nur "24h". Sehr sehenswert. * Madame Pirate: Becoming a Legend: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2810840425 Ein 15 Minuten Film, der die fiktive Geschichte einer Frau erzählt, die in Gefangenschaft unter Piraten unter Umständen zu deren Anführerin wird und gegen die kaiserlichen Truppen kämpft. Ein emanzipatorischer Film der zwischen realen 180° Szenen einer Theatergruppe und handgezeichneten Szenen wechselt und so einen weiteren interessanten Blick auf die aktiongeladene Geschichte wirft. Alexandria currently offers us 3 very interesting and different films. However, these must first be downloaded. Very worth seeing. * Madame Pirate: Becoming a Legend: A 15-minute film that tells the fictional story of a woman who, while imprisoned among pirates, becomes their leader under certain circumstances and fights against the imperial troops. An emancipatory film that alternates between real 180° scenes of a theatre troupe and hand-drawn scenes for another interesting take on the action-packed story. Thrilling. * The Sololist A 30 minute breathtaking documentary about a young man who has made free climbing his life's work. An interview and above all spectacular 360° shots offer a great experience in the USA and the Alps. Alexandria - Port of Worlds is a Free to play VR film festival social world. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, sounded ok, played ok, looked ok. The instructions were for Quest system, but was able to figure out some Vive controls. Recently released and WIP, still has bugs to work out. You can voice chat with other players, does have a mute player audio button on their nametag. Very simple geometric shaped avatars. VR movement mode is teleport and smooth move / snap turning with comfort tunneling added. Cons: - Server does not connect, so no social element. - All the 360 movies have been removed. Don't bother downloading this now.
