its trash... def not worth it, even on sale
Alex Jones actually had this sh*t made just to go on and defend Jeffrey Epstein's best friend, Donald Jamarcus Trump as well as Peter Thiel. Actual meme of a man.
They're turning the freaking frogs g4y! It's a fun little side scroller with Alex Jones quotes, he's not taking himself seriously and you shouldn't either. Gameplay isn't hard and it'll take you about 20-30 minutes to complete.
Not worth 17.76 but it's a fun easy game but needs achievements to make the game more fun.
Political stuff aside, this is actually a pretty funny little platformer. I understand that the $17.76 price is supposed to be symbolic, but considering the entire game can be beaten in about 30 minutes, it feels less like a game and more like an overpriced MAGA souvenir you'd find in Trump Tower shop. That said, the game itself is surprisingly solid. No bugs, no lag, no technical issues whatsoever. The platforming is simple but enjoyable, and the absurdity of the whole thing gave me a few good laughs. The highlight is probably the Epstein Island level, where you rescue children from pedos. You can even meet Trump himself, and hearing him say "I'm here to protect the babies" is funny as hell, especially after all Epstein files drama. Whether buying this supports Trump or not is a debate I honestly don't care about. I bought it because the concept was ridiculous and I wanted to see what it was like. Overall: a funny 30-minute experience, but definitely overpriced for what you're getting. 5/10
I feel dirty after playing this monstrosity of an afterbirth that laughably calls itself a platformer. The reviews were almost universally positive, likely Alex Jones supporters donating to his bankruptcy fun. Put aside the subject matter, its a crap game. One of the worst 2D platformers I've encountered - its a Metal Slug wannabe, with only the ability to shoot left, right, up and down. No angled shots. Ridiculously easy gameplay with NINE lives, so presents no challenge and there's infinite bullets. The voice lines of Alex are genuine, but the first boss is 'Virgin Billionaire' Bill Gates, saying he's going to lower population by spreading COVID. I need to shower after requsting a refund, and purging this from my library history. If there'd been ANY decent gameplay to justify the OUTRAGEOUS price, I might have been charitable and not left a review. But this is a turd stinker.
Should be Game of the Year!
As stupid easy as this game is, I can't not have it in my library.
Legend has it upon completing this game without loosing a life, god parts the heavens and angels fly down playing guitars made of gold. A huge party breaks out with perfectly smoked brisket, the most chill delicious beer and scantily clad sexy women are there and the whole thing is so awesome and stuff. ...oh yeh the game is pretty cool 10/10
At it's most fundamental level, Alex Jones: NWO Wars is a Metal Slug clone. And a pretty solid one in terms of looks and feel. The controls are tight and reponsive, the visual effects are visceral (the animations on anything that gets blown up are amazing) and the sound design is nice and chunky. The humor is of course, a main selling point, and seeing Alex Jones taking an array of liberal political leaders in the form of mutated monstrosities is so out there it's probably worth playing just for that. There were a couple of Alex quips that actually made me laugh out loud, and whoever the actor is playing Tucker Carlson has the best Tucker Carlson impression I think I've ever heard. However, as a game, it's good but not spectacular. As I mentioned previously, it nails the look and feel of a proper metal slug game, but there are a few real misses in the details of that. There are only two weapon power ups you can find, the Machinegun and the flamethrower; and the flamethrower is locked to one mission. Where's the rocket launcher? Where's the shotgun or the grenade launcher or the laser? I feel like just a little more variety in power ups would have gone a long way for this game. It's also really easy for a game of this type. Granted, it wasn't developed for the purpose of extracting the maximal number of quarters, but still, a bit more challenge would have made it more fun. The final boss actually is about as hard as you'd expect from a game trying to copy Metal Slug. And that fight is great. I just wish some of the earlier bosses would have been built to a similar standard. Lastly, it's also a very short game. Even in comparison to the games it's trying to emulate, I finished it in about half an hour. I still think it's worth playing if you like Metal Slug, or if the premise is too weird to pass up, but at a poetic $17.76, it's definitely going to be worth it for everyone.
