Finished, Plays like Ratchet and Clank or Jak and Daxter and emulates the gameplay formula pretty well when it comes to playing a 3rd Person Action Platformer, It falls into the flaw of not being able to upgrade your regular weapons and making the currency almost useless except for your special weapons that can be upgraded and you’re only able to get it from breaking Crates rather than also killing the enemies, The Game Starts Off pretty slow when it comes to getting into the action and pretty much will be platforming until you get the first weapon which is kind of a drawback, But the Game keeps up the consistent variety where you find plenty of sections where you riding in different vehicles like a Tank, Car, Spaceship, and Turrent Section so it’s consistent itself pretty fresh The Weapon Set is Pretty Solid with a Weak Assault Rifle that I would stop using after a Certain Point, Solid Sniper that is great for distance and precision, Great Rocket Launcher for stronger enemies, A Cool Mini Gun and the Special Weapons are Pretty cool when Upgraded but it really takes awhile to buy upgrades, The Movement with the double jumps and dashing feels pretty effective to use in Combat Robot World and Setting is Pretty Cool to traverse and there’s constant forward momentum when it comes to the actual adventurer aspect and you always finding yourself in a New environment like Ice Caves, Giant Facilities, Traveling through time due to the Game’s Mcguffin of the Artifact, There’s a solid level of immersion into the scifi world Visually the Games looks pretty good and the cinematics definitely feel professional level despite this being an indie game, The Bot Designs are pretty unique where there’s regular bots and drones and even the ancient stuff are still designed to look robotic, The Optimization is almost pretty good for being on the unreal engine where it’s mostly a consistent 60FPS across the board except there there are point where it can dip into the 30s especially a certain section of the game after the MC dies The Characters were pretty entertaining throughout the game with the Dynamic just being Jak and Daxter of Stoic guy and quippy sidekick and the execution is pretty effective, Evilware is pretty much like Dr.Nefarious with the craziness and his dynamic with the ambassador shows a good mirror and reflection of the main duo 7.5/10
They did a really good job with the gameplay and visuals. I appreciate the smoothness and rewarding feeling of getting around the map with the movement of double jumps and dashes. I do wish I could zoom into the sniper. It took about an hour for the environment to finally change from the mini islands. That part got a bit repetitive and I paused to make sure there's cooler places and there is. I didn't expect to be shooting in a spaceship! that was cool, it felt like playing Galaga on my gameboy advance as a kid except here it's first person. The little robot sidekick instantly reminds me of claptrap from borderlands as well with his humerous little dialogues. I do wish for the enemies to be a little more creative. It gets old seeing the same one or two models over and over. Atleast 4-5 would be sufficient and the grunting noises they make are repetitive. That's getting a bit nit picky I know but the immersion gets washed away pretty quickly when the copy/paste tool is used too often. I look forward to finishing the game and I plan to follow up! This part is with 90 minutes in.
Banger game, story could be written better, but all in all a great game. I recommend buying it on sale (due to the low price), but it is also worth buying at full price if you like the Ratchet & Clank style of games
The game is cool, the narrative is clearly it's best part. The voice actors did a heavy lifting here. The story is really simple but I don't think the game needs anything more. Gameplay wise it's alright for a 3D platformer. The movement is alright, the combat is pretty cool. I like the diversity of weapons but I think the player proggression's been done wrong. You collect all theese botcoins just to not spend them - once you find your favuirte weapon to upgrade I don't think you'll be buying anything else. I quickly stopped carring about collecting botcoins. I was determined to finish the whole game but failed. The absolute worst part of the game are the vehicle driving missions. The ones where you fly a speceship are fine, but the car is just so awful. It gets stuck so easily, it's super hard to distinguish the correct route from the killing chasms and there's no feeling of speed at all. I was just hoping to find a cheat code that allows me to bypass the mission where you drive the car while being constantly shoot from behind but there's none so I dropped the game (a checkpoint mid level would be the least that you guys could have done for the players). Overall I think the game is fun. It looks and runs great. The audio is great. Everything is essentially fine except the vehicle driving parts. I generally recommend, especially since the game is fairly cheap nowadays.
gg. ran well
They resurrected jak and daxter
this game is fun and def a good play.
I have played the first two missions and I can absolutely say.. if you miss 2000's platformers, I recommend ya getting this game. Maybe story feels a bit anti-climatic, but still.. this game is very fun. Movement, overheat gun system make it encouraging. If I could rate it, this game is a 7/10. Not Jak 2 level, but definitely a very good breath away from triple A's.
