About
Aiyana is a beautiful yet deadly alien world. During the day the world is peaceful, except for the occasional carnivore. At night the planet comes to life and its everyone for themselves. A corruption is spreading through the world and each night it takes a hold of the plants and animals, making them deadlier than ever.
Aiyana aims to be an evolution of the voxel builder/block survival genre by giving players challenges and clear goals of progression whilst playing.

In order to survive the aggressive nightlife Aiyana features more complex fighting mechanics through its Talent Trees and magic systems. Spells can be unlocked by completing achievements and spending perk points in Talent Trees.
Here is the Rock Volley spell in action :
There are currently more than 25 spells and many of them are utilities such as being able to detect nearby ores/minerals, being able to hover in the air or simply to teleport you back home safely.
For those who are feeling more creative we have built a blueprint and structure builder system. How it works is you stake out an area of land and fill it with your structure. Once you're done you can copy and paste the structure into the world as many times as you like, provided you have enough resources.
Here is a house being built using the system:
There is also a creative mode for those just looking to build and over 800 unique blocks to build with.

To keep a long term save compelling, Aiyana uses an infinite level up system so that your character is always improving the longer you play. The foundation of this is fairly standard where using a stat will level it up. Use enough stamina and it will increase your stamina bar. Taking enough damage will eventually increase your health.
There is no cap to how much you can level up each stat, however the more you level up a stat the harder it will become to continue improving it.
This system is applied globally so that every action is affected including every spell you cast and things like your mining or chopping speed.
There is also:
A full screen map, Fishing, Enchanting, Dungeons, Farming, Cooking, Animal Taming and Archery.

Once you have upgraded your Totem to a high enough level you will unlock the Infinite Wave Survival mode where enemies will continously attack your base.
Once you end a challenge, blueprints are automatically placed over any destroyed blocks so you that your base can be automatically rebuilt.
Reaching high enough waves will unlock rewards such as perk points, new crafting, cooking and enchanting recipes.
Finally, your score will be converted into experience that can be invested into your attributes and your highscore is submitted to the Steam leaderboards.

While staying in a long term save is great, sometimes you also just want to start over and feel the struggle from the beginning again. With our anti-wiki feature each world will be different. Rather than looking up the best food to eat or which monster drops give the best potions, you will have to experiment in each save file to find the answer. A lot of these options are randomized so each new world will be different from the last.
For example, in one world eating a burger might increase your max health, in another it might improve your mining speed.
The aim with this mechanic is to make the game play less clinical and encourage you to play and experiment more with your world. Currently this system is only applied to a few mechanics but the aim is to expand upon it in the future.

I played the demo for this game multiple times. I'd been burned by minecraft clones in the past, but there was just something appealing about this one's RPG progression. Action skills, learn as you go, randomization of food effects per world, it was basic, but it had charm. I bought the game once it went on summer sale because I couldn't in good faith spend 20 dollars, and frankly, 16 still was too much. I learned 3 things from the demo: Performance is bad, the shaders are broken, and the control scheme is lacking, and not really that fixable, all things considered. and I maintain those very truths to this day. This game has so much potential. And honestly, in another year, this negative review might just turn to positive. But I cannot in good faith recommend this game, not yet, at least. The one thing that the demo hid tremendously well with its' 30 minute time limit, is that this game is TREMENDOUSLY unstable, to the point of causing my ENTIRE GRAPHICS DRIVERS TO CRASH, between every 20 and 40 minutes. This game also does not auto-save. You have to save manually. So, you end up forgetting to save, you crash, kablooey, 40 minutes of progress wiped off the face of the earth. But, the game DOES auto-save SOMETHING. Your inventory. So, if you were building a house, your world will be unedited, your house, unbuilt, however your inventory? Barren as a wasteland. All those resources you farmed for? Gone. No sign you ever even GOT them. Go get them again. All in all, I WANT to love this game. I just can't recommend it.
This game seems off to a solid start, I look forward to seeing what gets added going forward. The obvious game to compare this to is Minecraft, but the skill and crafting systems are different enough to give Aiyana it's own identity. Nighttime is dangerous, but not a zombie in sight, and you don't have to light every crevice of your base with torches to keep them from spawning. Instead you have a protective totem that prevents hostiles from spawning within a certain distance and you can upgrade the totem to expand the protected area. The totem also allows you to deliberately spawn attacks on your base. If you defeat the attack, you are rewarded with XP, new crafting recipes, etc. It's also worth staying out to hunt at night as long as you are equipped for it. Normal critters are overcome with corruption and new types of creatures spawn. Killing them provides magical essence that can be used in alchemy. Buffs from potions last until you die or are replaced by a buff from another potion, so they are definitely worth making. As you level up, you can also buy perks that allow you to have multiple potion buffs at once. The one area I find a little lacking is exploration. There are multiple biomes, each with different vegetation and creatures, but there is very little to find in the way of POIs. You can find crops to take home and add to your farm and the occasional cave opening that may have some metals and coal, but that is all I've encountered so far. Hopefully more will be added during Early Access.
I’m only 4 hours into the game but already I’m hooked. You just get sucked into the world and it becomes a bit of a time warp, I haven’t actually achieved much in the game yet apart from lots of exploring and playing about with all the different building options, tools & spells. I can see myself loosing a lot of my life to this game haha Nice visuals and chill music. Watch out though because like it says in the description, when it turns to night time the mechanics of the game seem to flip and most things are out to kill you, which at this early stage of my playing happens a lot to me. There seems to be so much to unlock, level up and build which is great and keeps it interesting. I have had to turn down the graphics a bit as I felt my laptop was getting a little hot whilst playing it but it is an old laptop so the issue is probably more with my cheap computer than the game. So far, I’m very impressed this game overall, you can clearly see that a lot of time, thought and effort has gone into the making of this game and I’m looking forward to exploring all the different worlds and everything that game has to offer. Solid 8/10 for me
Everything you need to know in under 3 min: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HyErojbhTnU But no need to click this is what it is: ⛏️Minecraft ⛏️Minecraft ⛏️Minecraft BUT with ⛏️Actual danger in the night ⛏️Skill tree ⛏️Attribute leveling by usage -> AS IT SHOULD BE :D ⛏️Boss fight -> Or 1 boss sort of but more coming ⛏️Crafting more survival game like than minecraft like. So basicly it's a Minecraft RPG made by 1 person, so expect less polish but something that feels recognizable and unique. I wish i had this option in minecraft than I would actually play it.
I really like the attributes and skill systems. What's normally a grind to collect resources is fun and rewarding. I look forward to future updates
It takes a magnificent indie gem to make my 'Zaxtors Indie Gold' list, usually only 10 to 12 of these do I find per year, and that's reviewing well over 120 games each and every year! https://youtu.be/x5u0jMXKOVo This gem of a game is phenomenal and abundantly shows the passion and love put into it for the last 8 years by the solo developer who crafted it. It's a fantastic mix of both Minecraft open world survival and action RPG with skills that go up the more you use them. Want to get better and faster at mining? ..Simply go mine! Want to run and jump faster and further? Simply sprint and mash your jump button! It's a joy to behold and play for sure as well! For a game that just barely launched in early access, it has a ton of depth already and I'm sure that it will only expand much, much deeper by simply looking at the developers update logs since it launched just six weeks ago at this time. An incredible value and an exceptional game. Just purchase (or play the 30 minute demo) and thank me later! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! ..God I wish that AAA game companies cared and put this much heart and passion into their $70 games these days. This very well might be my "best indie game of 2024" at the end of this year! ..It IS "that" good!
This really is a great game, very similar to Minecraft but has a full skill system that if you invest well you will be gliding off mountains, breathing underwater, walking on water and so many others. Most of these skills or buffs stack with each other and as the character levels you can layer yet more options into the character. It is a little buggy, but it is to be expected this early in the game, the Developer does care and responds well even to my questions that can make me look quite dim at times. Had this less then a week and 40 hours siphoned away. Be patient with this title and it will just get better and better ! I ad to come back and edit this as I forgot to tell of a feature that is very nice. When you decide the world you are in has been ravaged enough you can move on to a new world and still keeps all the skills and magic you learned, you lose potion effects till you make them again, but potions are permanent once drank, and if you have the right skills in alchemy you can stack multiple potions. Bah my last comment was almost as big as the original review, there is much more to this game then I have said, well worth checking out.
I just lost half a day worth of upgrading/building/leveling due to the game not saving on exit after pressing "save & quit". Why even play.
Only played a couple of hours but the game looks super fun , so so many crafting options and it looks really well put together and needs a wee bit of thought to play , Love the music and grafix , one particular tune is really catchy so look out for the ear worm once u start to play ...
Here is a gorgeous early access game that just blows my mind every time I jump in to play. I've just recently started playing and have already put in over 30 hrs. I know a lot of folks have been mentioning how things have changes since the demo and how it's unplayable or no longer fun, well, after 30 hrs I beg to differ. Yes, it has it's ups and downs but it's early access which means for every down there's a massively positive up that's coming down the pike. We're talking about a great developer who has been working on this game for over 9 yrs and has yet to get tired of working on it and trying to make it fun and enjoyable to dive in for everyone. All I can say is for every hiccup I've run into between the two of us we've worked through and figured out a way to keep making things enjoyable while things get fixed and worked on. He has so much in store for this game it blows my mind the detail he wants to go into for the end result. As long as he keeps enjoying what he's doing for this great game we're all in for one heck of a ride when it's all said and done. Just remember if something isn't working instead of fussing in here head over to the Discord and let him know what's going on he's probably already working on a fix or is trying to figure out a better way forward into the next dive.
