Reviews
Ignore the Negative Reviews as many don't understand the concepts of an Alpha or testing phases in game development. All of these kids now days buy into Alpha's or play free-to-play Alphas and expect a AAA game from small dev teams. Steam doesn't do anything to support small game developers in this aspect. You shouldn't be allowed to drop reviews of games that you haven't played longer than 2 hours at a minimum. When a game does not work during Alpha everyone acts like its the end of the world and other developers feel like they failed and get discouraged but in all honestly the whole purpose of an ALPHA is for things like this to be encountered so that future beta's and releases are stable and perfected. Dev team is very open and really do their best to communicate with their community. I would sit tight and give these guys a chance. I will be updating my review later.
Good concept but don't expect too much polish because it is still in early access, please stop posting negative reviews that are unrelated to the gameplay

Most of this review is complaints about things that I think will shift with time, saying the game is supported. I may update things as I continue playing, for as long as that is. Agents: Biohunters is a 3v3, objective-focused, third-person game in which you take control of one of the characters called Agents in order to defeat giant mutant creatures faster than the other team. Story... or rather the tidbits of it I have found are incoherent with the objective of the game. This is more nit-picky on my part than anything else, but I want to begin with elements that aren't gameplay as that can turn people away from what they would find to be a good game. There are giant mutant creatures threatening to destroy the Earth. Agents are called in to protect the Earth. Two Agents, Hune and Rido, are connected to some Evil Organization. Also, it is an arena game where you fight against another team of 3 agents attempting to stop a giant mutant creature from destroying the Earth. The more I think about this, the more it bothers me... so I'm gonna move on. (Note: I don't expect the story to be amazing, but I'd like it to be less fragmented.) Visuals are pleasant and one of the few things that I don't have issue with. The game is nice to look at. In-game is nice to look at. Menus are clunky and unpolished. I expect that will change as the Early Access continues. Queue... maybe it is the time of day. Maybe it is the number of players. Maybe it is the connection to servers. Whatever it is, in the 106 minutes I've played, only one 30 minute match was had. Matchmaking screen is not very clear on how many people you're connected to nor is it clear on if it still is attempting to find players. There is also, currently, no way to queue with friends. Gameplay feels like a mashup of multiple different game styles. Kill small creatures for experience and blue orbs. Gain levels to unlock and empower abilities. Blue orbs are used to build walls and towers. Defend floating pyramid to progress to giant mutant creature. Games styles and types it reminds me of are MOBAS, Tower Defense, Search and Destroy, Monster Hunter. These influences create a rather unique game. However, pulling from many different ideas can create confusion as to how particular abilities work and what controls are. Sadly, there is no tutorial as to how the game is played and there is no practice arena currently. Bugs I've encountered are being in a queue with the game telling me that I was matched with other players and waiting to load. I stayed in that queue for 30 minutes, so that was fun. :/ In the only game I've been able to successfully load into, I became invulnerable and unable to capture objectives. I was still able to damage enemies. I was playing Elon and most of or the entire enemy team had disconnected. I expect to encounter many more bugs, that is the nature of Early Access. Microtransactions/Store. Many other reviews harshly criticize the implementation of microtransactions as Agents: Biohunters is quite unpolished. I don't know the money invested in the game nor do I know the size of the team working on the game. I do know that it costs money to develop games, commission art, run servers, have the game hosted, websites, etc. Personally, I don't care that microtransactions are setup in what many perceive to be a broken, buggy mess. Let the team make money to pay for the game. If you feel strongly enough to buy something and do, that is your decision. If you are impulsively buying cosmetics for a game and regretting your purchases later, consider counseling. If you've read this far, thanks for hearing me out. <3 TL;DR/Closing Notes: Agents: Biohunters is a really rough gem, or at least it appears to be a gem to me. I, however, cannot recommend a game that is this unpolished, Early Access or not. It is free-to-play, so I can say that if you find it interesting, there isn't anything stopping you.
WHAT!?!!? A positive review!?!??! Yeah, believe it or not I can't say this game is that bad once I actually got into a game. Speaking of getting into a game let me try summarize what happens or what I experience before I actually got into a game. I boot up the game, wait for 5 minutes for the game server to let me enter, Alt+f4, Boot up the game again, Start writing a draft for this review, Get into the lobby, be horrified by the dead stare every character in this game have, start a queue, CRASH, Boot the game up again, scared for my life again, Join queue, get into a lobby, pick the support dude because I know I'll suck playing anything else, wait for 10 minutes for the game to load while a big "CLOSED BETA" sign stare at me like a friend waiting for a laugh after they told me a stupid joke, Crash, Alt+f4, Boot the game up again, Queue, Choose character, Loading screen, CLOSED BETA, Steam crashed, Alt+f4, Boot the game up again, Queue, Choose character, Loading screen, CLOSED BETA, Blue screen of dead with all my unsaved review Draft gone, Gets upset, Boot the game up again, Queue, Join into lobby, support guy, loading screen, someone disconnected, Start a new queue, Lobby, Support, Game, AND IT FINALLY LOADS! A couple of things to note here. First this thing needs all the rams it can get. Secondly, a lot of works still needs to be done on the visual and stability of the game. Thirdly, I have a LOT of opinion about the game. Now, since I don't want to end a review on a negative note, I'll start this review with all the negative aspect of the game and (hopefully) end on a much positive note. Because believe it or not, crowd thinking has its value and there's a good reason why this game earns its "Mostly negative" review on steam. First off, we need to have a talk on what does and what doesn't count as a Beta. Oh, and also what Closed and Open phase of development is. There's something to be said when there's a big "CLOSED BETA" sign staring down at me during a loading screen on a game that (in my opinion) an Open Alpha. I'm not going to argue semantics between Alpha and Beta phase, but I know for a fact this is an open development, not a closed one. I can excuse it for now since this just released on steam but I expect a lot of things to be changed in the near future. Oh, and considering this is an Alpha, I'll excuse the whole instability, networking and lack of animation issues surrounding this game. Secondly, Other than instability and bugs, the gameplay and experience still need to be worked on. Map is too large in my opinion, a lot of wasted space, if you're trying to make it explorative (which You shouldn't in my opinion for this kind of game) at least make something interesting for us to see. Tutorials or at least a clearer UI needs to be added. Believe it or not copying a popular game's UI and calling it a day is not an effective solution. Oh, and so does Battle pass, not trying to join in on the big F hate bandwagon, but there's a lot more way to make a time sink other than battle pass, try to be more creative. Thirdly, let's talk monetization. Why is there a large in game currency purchase button staring at me the second I enter the game? Why is almost half the roster locked behind a paywall? Is this supposed to be an early access game or is it "PLEASE, WE RUN OUT OF FUNDING AND ARE FORCED TO RELEASE THE GAME EARLY, GIVE US MONEY" kind of deal? Yeah, chances are this game is one of those. You know what I'm talking about, the permanent dweller of Steam Early Access, the kind of game that not so much temporarily stay and moves on from its early access period when reaching adulthood but instead decide to stay, dwell, accept, and live inside the parent's basement. I can't predict the future, but I can certainly do a search on steam for "Early access" and find a bunch of not so dissimilar cases with this one. I know this won't make a lasting effect once the game finally releases, and sometime this kind of measure needs to be taken when the sunk cost fallacy kicks in while the funding is starting to dry out, but please don't rely on it when the game finally stabilize. No, don't pretend like this game is on Open Alpha because you need "Feedback" both of us know the people on closed Alpha already give plenty of that. Unless this is all just a guerilla marketing exploiting the Covid Outbreak that I'm just too dumb to see. Fourthly, about the theme and art direction. Or, to be more specific the lack of theme... I gonna Rip a quote straight from the game's website "In a dangerous world where giant creatures are attacking us, we need heroes to defend our life. We call them AGENTS! NEW & TRENDY competitive multiplayer video game. DO YOU WANNA PLAY WITH US?" See, I never expect being New & trendy as a selling point, but here we are, I guess. I don't usually talk about the theme and art direction of a game, mainly because there's no real way of doing it "Wrong", but there's something to be said when one of the character is called ELON, There's an Iron Man knock off , and it's trying to sell itself on being "New & Trendy". Then again what do I know theme and art direction, I have a type 3 anime dependency where I can't spend more than 2 minutes without hugging my anime body pillow. Right, so that's all the negative I'm going to point out, now we get to why I give this game a positive review. First off, Sound design. Yeah, I gonna bring this up, the music and sound design is actually pretty good. IF you ignore the Horrible voice acting. Honestly, I feel like it's not necessary in this early stage of development. Hiring professional Voice actors is expensive and it barely gives anything when the game is this unpolished. You can't "Learn" Voice acting the same way you learn character design or programming. But you can't really cheap out on it either because people will notice if it's bad. Unfortunately, no one really notice (except for emotional moment in story telling) good voice acting either, which is why I recommend you skip on it entirely. You either go all in or none at all in voice acting there's no cheap middle ground. Secondly, Gameplay. It is something new. It's a mix between Monster hunter and TF2 (Yeah, you thought I gonna bring up OW did cha?). It's weird, and very janky, but I can't say I hate it. The sum of its parts collectively makes a better game than just making a rip off of each of them individually. It fixes the monotony of the loot and shoot formula by being a PvP game, and it fixes the frustration that comes naturally in a competitive game by having an RPG element akin to Monster Hunter, where being a good player individually CAN matter more than being a good team. However, it still does need a more work put into it. The characters feel generic and samey and because of the limited roster the game ended up feeling samey even with the PvP element. But, and I know this is cheesy, it has potential. If more characters, maps, and Boss fights are added, this can actually succeed. Try hiring a map designer and don't try to follow the latest trend like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ teenager trying to figure out their place in the world. OH, and this got motorbikes 10/10 So, to sum it up, it has potential, needs a lot of work, dial down on the monetization aspect, and please for the love of go watch something else other than Marvel and DC. Oh, and consider hiring a writer, it'll help when You're not a native English speaker. 6.5/10 We did it bois, we cured Corona
P.s. It took me an hour, but I finally realize the map is open because it's asking me to choose a respawn location (Out of only 1 respawn location, but it's the thought that counts) P.P.S If I haven't make it clear already, I don't actually recommend you playing the game, It's still to early to be played
Spent around 30 minutes trying to find a match . 2 times the servers just closed when a match was found . No players to play with I can`t recommend this game for now, I might try it later on, but for now it`s a no.
I usually don't like to write reviews, but in this case I had to. Let's clear this one thing, game developers had an idea and they did hard work to make it come true. Which is what I dearly appreciate about them. But it ends here only. Game looks fine, but doesn't work fine. Idea looks fine, but doesn't play fine. Player base, ofcourse who would play a game from a small developer who released an unpolished and unfinished game and most of all they didn't advertise. We have seen big studios crumble due to no or low marketing campaign, they underestimated the power of marketing. Look at lawbreakers, battleborn and many more victims to a already established market. Anyways props for trying. Maybe you guys come up with something, a major update with a little bit of marketing might change the tides in your favor. It's hard to see someones hard work goes to waste like this.
Agents Biohunters has been release for public play after a few closed beta testing, but players shouldn’t expect a full release for maybe another year, the game has been released as an early access game. And believe us when we say it’s real early, Agents feel more like an alpha build than an early access game that had been said to be in beta. In all honesty Agents Biohunters isn’t even ready for early access, there are no tutorials, no settings for players to change, no way to invite friends, no in-game chat system or even a way to exit a game if you find yourself to be the only one in the match. To say this version of the game is bare-bones would be generous, it barely functions and only raise the question, why was this released at all? Surely, it’s because the team at Playstark thought that their game would help players cope with the worldwide epidemic by providing a new free-to-play game to pass the time, right? Well this iteration of the game will cause more frustration than joy, there is nearly nothing to enjoy right now, the game barely functions as if the team forgot to update the Steam store with the correct game. It should be noted that the developers have released a roadmap for the game, by the end of the year Agents Biohunter will have (in the order that has been shown from Spring to Winter): the ability to play with friends and utilize a ping system, in-game chat and settings/keybinding, competitive matchmaking and daily missions, and ending with a new agent and custom buildings. It’s surprising to see how many basic modern features is missing from the game, this a team-based hero shooter, so why is the in-game chat not being implemented first, why is it being planned for the summer update? Why isn’t keybinding already programed in? Why can’t players change any of the settings to help the game run smoother? Sure, you can say that these things will be added later and it’s ok because the game is in early access, but isn’t the idea of early access is to give players a good indication on what the game can become? Somehow the closed betas in 2019 functioned well and felt more complete than what was released this year. The early access version feels like a watered-down alpha version of a game that wasn’t even ready a few months ago, it turned out buggier and less stable than it was back in December (which ran better and had fixed the matchmaking issue). What’s good about the early access version of Agents? The art style is still nice, and the vibrant colors helps make the game look attractive and makes the singular map worth exploring, so the art department should be proud of their achievement. Character designs look great, even the more generic looking characters like April look cool enough to where you don’t mind unlocking new stuff for them, even if you don’t play as them. Other than those two things, there’s nothing here to make a recommendation to play Agents Biohunters, the game is fun when all six players are in a match, but good luck trying to get more than three people in total. The matchmaking is so bad that players from both teams will just get disconnected from the start of the match and just leave their character models in the game. On multiple occasions everybody would get disconnected after the game claimed to have found a match, and on the very games played, only three or four people would get loaded in. During my playthroughs I was able to get into a total of four matches, mind you the game released on April 7th and I finally have enough gameplay footage as of April 13th as I write this. I never got into a game with a full team, nor did I face an enemy team with a full roster, a few times it was two against one and that was usually in my favor. Once, my teammate got disconnected and it was just me and one other enemy player, we ran around a mostly empty map trying to get the crystal to spawn so we could move on. The crystals didn’t spawn like they were supposed to, they stayed invisible until we killed a certain number of monsters. I only know this because in only the first game I got into, the UI showed where the next crystal was and the number of monsters needed in that area, after that game it never showed up again and the crystal disappeared with it. The idea of Agents Biohunters is for two teams of three to hunt down a giant bio-monster that is locked up in a mid-sized arena, in order to unlock said arena both teams must collect three crystals, to do this a team of three must destroy a certain number of enemies within that area to activate the crystal. Once the crystal is activated a ring with show up and the game turns into King of the Hill, both teams will have the chance to get the crystal if they stand inside the ring long enough. It would be easy to just allow your opponents to activate the ring for you and then attack, but destroying monsters can give a team an advantage, the more monsters a player kills the more experience points they get. After accumulating enough points players will level up and can make their special abilities stronger, like adding more health points to your shield or widening a stun grenade’s blast radius. This helps ensures that players are continuously moving around the map and encourages teamwork. Once a team collects three crystals the arena will open for them, this makes fighting for each ring important, once the arena is open teams will fight against the same giant boss, Rognar. The goal against Rognar is to destroy three select pieces of his body. They look like armor but are obviously part of his entire being, the first team to destroy three pieces wins the game. Agents Biohunters is a simple concept and feels like it wants to be EVOLVE (remember that promising game?) and a different take on MOBAs, but it’s just a concept at this point that needs so much work that it’s obvious the developers released the game in such a poor state to try and get players to fund further development. Out of everything Agents is missing the shop isn’t one of them, the shop was even operational during the closed betas, at this time there isn’t a paid season pass but instead players can buy Agent Coins (The coins don’t have a name in-game). There are five different amounts that players can purchase with real world money, for as small as $2 USD to $40 USD, as of right now the coins are used to purchase certain cosmetics. Other items, such as character and certain cosmetic unlocks are rewarded after players collect a second (unnamed) in-game currency that is earned after each completed match, so coins are mostly just to support the game. There are six characters in Agents Biohunters at launch, with a new agent coming in winter, unfortunately half of the characters are locked away. This leaves you with a weak selection of an already minuscule roster, and out of the three characters locked away one is locked behind the ‘season pass’, while the other two must be purchased using Agent Coins (ACs can be won in the season pass for free as well). Agents Biohunters is a promising concept that could make for a fun game for smaller content creators to stream, it’s not going to be as popular as Paladins or even Darwin Project, but it could have a ongoing community if it doesn’t fall into obscurity with the slow looking roadmap that’s planned.
in one word, its disgusting! first of all it takes forever to find a match and estimated time for it is 5 minutes!!!!! even after it finds one the server socks and says "omg i have found 6 players that happens only once a year" so it will take another 2 minutes to start the server! after that it has a terrible game play and it has only 1 game mode wich makes it more terrible. not a good toturial just a video clip from what u should do , not the thing that u CAN do. i played a match and it took 8 minutes to find 6 person and then 2 min for starting server. think 4 of those were robots cause only one from the enemy team moved and the outhers died without killing even 1 creature and didint spawn again. oh and why every mob names creature? coudlnt u pick a name for each one? there are only two so its not that hard!
Game was abandoned by the developers as they decided the game was too ambitious for them and they moved on to do a single player game that is called "Die after sunset" that is supposedly suppose to come out "later this year". (It seems to use character designs and concepts from this game) I want to say that the game didn't need as much of the hate that it had gotten because it WAS a game in early access (VERY early access). The point being to help game developers make their game better by testing it. They tried hard and I hope their next game suits them better and helps them grow. I also hope they will come back to this idea some time, I'd love to play it :)
