2048 - temperatures are rising and ocean currents are stagnating. Coral reefs everywhere are barren and lifeless. Your conservation team have a unique opportunity to protect what remains of the reef. You'll need to make some bold innovations to give it a fighting chance. Your efforts always come with a risk of unforeseen consequences. Will the reef survive?
Conduct dives to identify new corals that might provide answers to how to save the reef. Could you expand the coral gene pool to improve the reef's health? Could you uncover new medicines that will provide much needed funding? Choose your dive times carefully - longer dives offer greater rewards but come with a risk of losing your team.
Harvest and plant corals to regrow the reef. Draw fish back to the area to provide much needed nutrients. Plant kelp forests if nutrients or water acidity gets too high. Deploy predator drones to hunt for invasive species. Find a way to keep the reef alive.
Hire staff, construct unique buildings, employ transportation drones, and create a supply network to get resources to where they are needed most.
Rising temperatures are a serious threat every summer. Low fish populations leave the reef without nutrients. Climate change is increasing the ocean's acidity. For the reef to have a chance at survival you must develop and deploy new tools to influence the environment.
