About
Death has abandoned the world.
The Goddess of Death no longer claims souls, and as a result, nothing can truly die. Kingdoms crumble under the weight of immortality, creatures roam without fear, and the natural order has collapsed into chaos. In Against the Godds, you lead a party of up to three heroes on a desperate journey to restore balance. To find Death, you must hunt down the powerful and secretive Godds and force them to reveal her location.
Your journey begins in The Forest, where your first target awaits: the Godd of the Hunt, a relentless, wolf-like predator who will not give up his secrets without a fight.
Each run presents a branching map filled with difficult decisions. Choose your route carefully as you travel through a sequence of combat encounters, mysterious events, and rare opportunities to rest and recover. Every path leads to a climactic boss battle, but the path you take will determine whether your party is strong enough to survive.
Choose from distinct character classes: including a resilient tank, a powerful damage dealer, and a vital healer. Combine their strengths to overcome increasingly difficult encounters. Synergy is key, and every decision shapes your party’s potential.
At the heart of Against the Godds lies its unique dice-based combat system. This is a turn-based, grid-based strategy experience where every action is dictated by the roll of a die. Each character wields up to three abilities, and every ability is powered by its own customizable die.
Victory isn’t just about luck!
After each battle, you can upgrade your abilities by modifying the faces of your dice. Increase damage, add powerful effects, or tailor your strategy to suit your playstyle. Over time, your dice evolve into a finely tuned engine of destruction, defence, or support.
Not every encounter is a fight. Throughout your journey, you’ll face non-combat events that test your judgement. Risk and reward go hand-in-hand as you choose between outcomes that grant powerful relics, lasting buffs, or dangerous trade-offs that could jeopardise your run.
Every run is different. With branching paths, evolving dice abilities, and a variety of encounters, Against the Godds delivers a highly replayable rogue-lite experience where adaptation is essential and no two journeys unfold the same way.

I Like the idea of the Dice upgrade system, even if it is super confusing, especially the effects, which I didn't understand until the game was basically over. My PC is melting, what if you limit the framerate? Maybe set the default graphic settings to medium-low. There's no point to start a run with a bad skill roll. I feel like you should get abilities as you go instead of all at once at the beginning. More encounter variety please? ;) Even some basic sounds would make a big difference. Abilites are either extremely situational, basically useless or overpowered. Poison arrow OP. Most of the time, I can't see my dice roll, it's covered up by the foliage! If you enable tutorial mode it breaks the game - so don't. One of the Relics only worked partially - I was supposed to get twice the skill points in exchange for half my health, but I got scammed :( I just lost my health with no benefit. Overall, more depth and variety would go a long way, there's a few bugs too :)
If you wanted to play a jester class murdering a bunch of the large mushrooms from dark souls this is your game.

Has come a long way since I last played, good fun! Needs a hard mode though, as I am yet to lose :)
