Aftershock Coastline
just nailed the Bioshock dark and gritty underwater bunker atmosphere, one of the most criminally underutilized settings in gaming history imo. If I were to point out some things to get worked on until full release that would be the shooting mechanics and enemy AI. Other than that, I had zero issues and this standalone hooked me up. Wishlisted and definitely keeping an eye on this one!

Disney's The Rocketeer gets trapped in Space Madness
Check out the full review on 2 Headed Hero! Aftershock: Coastline is a fun little survival-horror imsim about being a forgotten spaceman that has to escape an abandoned bunker. But you're not alone here. Grey-skinned ghouls and faceless horrors blend in with the bunker's concrete walls, awkwardly stumbling around until they sniff you out and blindly charge towards the only warm body left in the garrison. The bunker is a carefully crafted closed environment that opens back up on itself like the Spencer Mansion, and it contains a pretty high amount of interaction. Imsim sickos will probably get tight in the pants at the prerequisite crawlable vents, stackable crates, clogged toilets and working sinks. You can eat the moldy rations left lying around, rummage through the cabinets for supplies, read the private diaries of the soldiers left behind here and learn the tale of how they slowly unraveled. There’s plenty of secrets to suss out for extra ammo and supplies, and even some fun stuff like the hidden Occult Fork Summoning Circle. I dunno, this all feels pretty damn close to the Bioshock experience to me, so it’s at least imsim-adjascent. And all this for the glorious price of FREE. I loved the “Amnesia the Bunker” micro design at play here, and only wish there was more of it. Aftershock Coastline is a fun little hour-long trip with plenty of surprises along the way, and the sudden ending makes me feel like it got yanked away just as it really started to gain momentum. What truly blows me away is that this is largely the effort of a single dev - Alex Rassloff. Alex, if you’re listening, PLEASE MAKE A FOLLOWUP. https://youtu.be/G_jGPds_-vw
Nice little survival horror-ish game with some elements slightly inspired by Bioshock. Short but sweet
really wanted to see this through, but the optimization is DREADFUL. a low-poly unity game with shaders should not chug and average this poorly. there are literally pre-made size-fits-all scripting packages for deferred rendering methods these days.
zero notes. its awesome. at free there's no excuse. a bite of bioshock. honestly i only wish there was more since it holds up design, narrative, and gameplay wise way better than most stuff i pay for.
