They gave up on it... :(

I paid for this game and now its free so im wondering if i can get my money back?

"After Dark VR" is a janky, abandoned Early Access VR exclusive co-op survival horror game, you know, where you wander around and get jumpscared and do some little "first person adventure game" activities to pass the level. It didn't catch on due to poor production qualities and the questionable decision to make the game VR exclusive, as well as what may well be a lot of asset flipping/plagiarism. The developers abandoned this 2 years and 9 months ago. It will never be completed. This unfinished game is just polluting Steam and making it harder for gamers to find genuinely, completely made games. The game graphics look better than you might expect, but that's just because it looks like some or all of them are "borrowed" from asset stores or wherever. Gamers can tell... and it comes across as insincere. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too. It's VR exclusive, and that shows the developer failed to understand the most basic axiom of VR game design... if the only cool thing about your product is VR support, your product is not cool. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging $0 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It's a nice gesture for the game to be given away for free, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. This is a slap in the face to anyone who paid money to the developers to back the project... and yes, not a single cent was refunded. The developers kept all the money from the backers they scammed. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at just a dozen or so concurrent players, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.

Эта игра попытается вас напугать. Но вы не бойтесь. Игра многопользовательская, и когда в нее перестанут заходить, она кекнет. Авторы могли бы сделать одиночный режим с ботами, но им видимо надо, чтобы их проект помер.

the vision is really cool but uh, yall should finish the development of this game, as well as polish it.
