Such a great game that honestly puts your sanity to the test! lol if youre looking for a challenge id def recommend this game. theres a lot of unique parts of the game that makes it both challenging but also forgiving ( dont take the rewind for granted like i did). but overall the game is fun and relaxing but also gets your blood going :))
The art style and music of this game is really cozy and cute! I do believe there are a few things that could be worked upon, such as having a settings option for controls, sound, brightness, etc. as well as music not ending after the first minute of each round. The game overall is enjoyable, and playing it was a good time. Figuring out jumping puzzles wasn't overly difficult, but also you can still the feeling of pride from completing them. As for a few notes: During the day - night cycle circle rounds, there were times I would die to spikes that were not seen in either day nor night. After defeating the bomb boss, when I jumped down from a ledge, I still died as if the boss was still present. Overall, I really enjoyed playing this game, and that's coming from someone who isn't usually a platform player. I was able to figure out the mechanics, I was confused on if it was mandatory for controller at first since the first stage does flash X and A, but after figuring out the keyboard functions I was a lot happier with my experience since I personally prefer M&K over controller. I believe this game has a lot of potential, and it is a great concept.
This was such a cute fun game! I enjoy the mechanics, especially the rewinding (knowing me I die a lot on simple things lol!) Music was really enjoyable! While I don't really play these platformers, I did have a lot of fun with this (even if I struggled a lot hehe)!!! Can suggest this to some of my friends as well who play games like Celeste! I do agree with another comment about the text font, but otherwise really really enjoyed the game!!! <3 Can't wait to see what you make in the future <3!!!
the game was frustrating but in a good way, it challenged me to keep going! i honestly love the creativity behind this game. all the level ideas and especially the time rewinding, i havent seen it in platform games before and its really fun~ i hope we see more games made by Yazan~!
Such a fun little game to play! I love the art style! The game difficult BUT in a fun way & makes you think about the puzzles to try & figure them out! Overall I would recommend this to friends!
Yazan has created a great game! I love the graphics and music so much they feel like home. The time mechanic is very well done and feels unique for this type of game. I haven’t finished it yet but did get to show it off to my stream community. We all vibed with it hard!
Overall it was fun. The only complaint I had was the writing. I do like the rewind concept. Its pretty unique. Some levels did confuse me cause something would hurt me, but couldn't see what did the damage. And that was before being able to see the two world layers in levels. Definitely not a bad start to game development, but room for growth.
Pretty fun platformer. It's cute and casual. I really like the paradox concept and the idea of rewinding n stuffs
I spent approximately two hours playing Aether’s Echo. Strengths and Enjoyable Mechanics Several elements make the game both engaging and challenging: The time-reversal mechanic, combined with day/night shifting, creates a unique and enjoyable platforming experience. The ability to rewind after colliding with enemies or spikes reduces frustration while encouraging experimentation. Temporarily losing the ability to rewind time adds a meaningful layer of difficulty, making successful level completion especially rewarding. Areas for Potential Improvement There are a few aspects I would enjoy seeing refined in a future update or sequel: Minor spelling and grammar errors could be addressed. This is not a major issue, and running the text through a tool like Grammarly would likely resolve most of them. A tutorial or clearer introduction to mechanics would be helpful. While some players enjoy discovering systems on their own, brief explanations could improve accessibility. A clearer visual or narrative theme. The hooded figure featured in the game’s artwork is visually compelling, and incorporating it (or a hoodless variation) into the playable character could strengthen the game’s identity. The purpose of collecting gemstones is somewhat unclear. While they function as a progression requirement, tying them more directly to the time-rewind mechanic could add depth. Greater level variety. The shift in backgrounds later in the game was particularly enjoyable, and expanding on this variety would enhance the experience. The ability to select chapters or resume progress more easily. After taking a break, I had to restart from the beginning. If this feature already exists, it may need to be more clearly communicated. Additional story or context for the bookkeeper. The narrative works with or without this character, but further development could add richness. Overall Impressions Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed Aether’s Echo. As a fan of platformers, I appreciated the opportunity to play and provide feedback. With a bit more polish, I believe this game has the potential to stand out even more—most of the improvements are small but impactful. Players who enjoy games like Bokura, Mario, or challenging platformers in general will likely find this game appealing. Congratulations to Yazan ili Pika on releasing a game and making it to Steam. This is an impressive achievement, and I look forward to seeing what you create in the future.
if you really like old school platformers you will love this like i did, the bosses are fun and not overly op and the reverse game play is a nice touch so technically you never die lol you are the op in this and its just fun, i highly recommend it for a easy fun afternoon type game it wont make you mad at losing, because you just say nope and reverse, its a nice game for a indie developer, way better than i thought it would be tbh, good job 10/10.
