About

A brand new take on the liminal space experience.
Your team is tasked with exploring and diving as deeply as possible into liminal spaces. Complete various tasks and dive deeper through several levels. With a procedural level generation system, the map is different and unique every single time.
Acatalepsy shines the most in multiplayer with friends; a small group is suggested to fully enjoy all aspects of Acatalepsy.
Your main goal is to complete the required number of tasks, open the final doors, and escape.

Simple, right?
You and your team are not the only ones inside these liminal spaces. Alongside completing your tasks, you'll need to avoid various entities that lurk within the level. Coming face-to-face with a creature here will mean certain death.
Once you have met the task threshold and your team has successfully exited a level, you will be presented with an interlude phase. Here, you can purchase additional lives, as well as sell and purchase equipment. All deceased team members will come back, but at the cost of a life.
In each level, you have as much time as you need to complete the required number of tasks. However, once the required number of tasks has been completed, you have a minimal amount of time to locate the exit doors and escape; otherwise, insanity will take over.
After the completion of every level, whether or not everyone lived or died, a new modifier will be applied to the next level. The map may be darker overall, the entity faster, more tasks required to escape, or plenty else. You need to adapt to the changing factors in order to progress as deeply as possible.

Proximity voice chat is not currently present within Acatalepsy due to specific limitations. As the development of Acatalepsy progresses, I will work to add proximity voice chat as soon as possible.
Due to concerns about cheating, multiplayer is currently only available via Steam Friend Invite.

I don't think you should sell a game in this state, this feels more like a demo than an actual Early Access release. There is very little to do besides collecting batteries and flipping switches. The controls feel really weird, I don't know if it's the sensitivity or some other setting, but something definitely feels off. The levels are all basically the same, just reskinned with different colors, they look the same and play the same. I mean no offense to the developer, I know making games is hard, but you can't charge $6 (or $8 without the discount) for this when there are similar games in the same price range that are far more polished and offer much more content. I got bored after about 20 minutes and ended up requesting a refund, I saw everything I needed to see. The game also kept crashing every time I finished a level and the randomizer wheel started spinning. The graphics are okay, they're not incredible or mind-blowing but they're not ugly either, the level design is too simple and the monster is too fast. I would suggest releasing a demo first and letting people try the game so they can discover it instead of making them pay and then request a refund 10 minutes later like I did. Alternatively, lower the price. I wish the developer the best, but for now, it's a no from me.
• It would be great to have something similar to a "motion sickness mode.", in addition with some other QoL settings, I know it's early-early access, but at least resolution and window mode settings. Game already looks good and kinda realistic, no need to put our head on the spring, feels like I'm Coil-Head. • And like for me, that level "mutators" should be a thing when there is at least two or more ("nothing" doesn't count). *This review will be updated as the game progresses (unless it dies shortly after its early access release).
Виузальная и звуковая часть игры просто великолепна, очень страшненько и красиво. Однако она пустая и делать пока там нечего. Советую купить, чтобы поддержать разработчиков
Это cool, я like it Waiting новых levels
Really fun Backrooms game with a creepy atmosphere and great level design. The environments feel unsettling and exploring them keeps you on edge. It isnt overloaded with cheap jump scares which makes the horror much more creepy. Definitely worth playing if youre a fan of Backrooms games The developer Heavy_Tankr is actively improving it!
только 3 лвла, скучно, мало контента, под пиво даже не идет 0\10
Really good game, graphics are PHENOMENAL quality is amazing for a SOLO DEVELOPER and its only in its first stages of development should be a bit more accessable but overall AMAZING backrooms game it really captures the essence of liminal spaces and the backrooms!
Overall this game is really good. the only thing i have a slight problem with is that the monsters find me within 30 seconds. another thing is that the monsters are way to fast. but overall really good game.
I'm a player from China. I used machine translation for the following text, so there might be inaccuracies—please bear with me. It’s clear this game has great potential, but the clunky controls really break my immersion. I have a few suggestions: 1. Pressing Tab to open the inventory causes noticeable stuttering; the transition isn’t smooth at all. 2. The camera tilts too far when strafing sideways. Turning 180 degrees while running feels stiff and laggy. Overall running movement is overly slippery, even when sprint-jumping—it’s like driving an unwieldy racing game. 3. Monster variety is lacking; they only chase players. I hope you can add more unique monsters with distinct traits to build a signature identity for the game. 4. The shop only offers a narrow selection of items. I’d love to see more creative item mechanics later, like using the airhorn to lure monsters away and rescue teammates. 5. The buff roulette system per level is a neat idea. I think you could add harder, funnier, more entertaining buff/debuff options. 6. Gameplay per level is far too repetitive. This build really feels like an unfinished work-in-progress. 7. I hope your team can push through this early development phase. I’ve seen too many promising game projects get abandoned halfway. Please keep up the good work—this title genuinely has massive potential.
This game is in bad need of sensitivity settings. Between the headbob and mouse sensitivity my motion sickness went off the charts and painted my house interior puke color. Other than that it felt good lossless scaling is needed for Steam Deck play.
