abandoned... what a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ disappointment
A huge amount of planned content has clearly been cut out of the game, the ending makes absolutely no sense and the ending scene is literally an unfinished line work sketch with dialogue.
the second half is clunky, badly translated in placed, rushed, some backgrounds aren't there some text is looped, the ending is just rushed and doesn't make anything remotely resembling sense. Disappointing end to a promising story line.
Rushed, Buggy, and Unfinished.
I've been following the development of the game since at least ver 0.3. I never stopped following development, but after two full playthroughs in various versions, I wanted to see what it looked like when it was in its 1.0 state. I probably have at least 20 hours of the game off steam. The best word I can use to describe the game is "unpolished." It's really not a bad game. If this was my first time playing it, I would probably genuinely enjoy it in the state it's in. That being said, this game is only worth it if you get it on sale. There are bugs, story continuity errors, notes left from beta versions, unfinished scenes. The game (in my opinion) isn't bad in the current state, but it's not great, which is a shame because it could've been. There was a lot of effort poured into the game and it shows, but it shows in some of the wrong ways. Certain scenes have way too much depth, while others have too little. The side stories have little to no impact on the main story and the game sometimes treats it as if you never did those side stories. My biggest complaint is the game is its SUPER grindy. I was hoping it would be more fine tuned from the demos, but nope. Money, traits, items, huge storylines are walled off because the game requires you to spend at least half an hour grinding for stuff. The biggest story disappointment for me was Effie's story,
which just stops right after an impactful scene with no resolution with her father.
On top of that, the game reset my progress with her story, dropping me off at the beginning and stopping me from finishing it a second time because she never shows up to her own house anymore. I'm not done with the main story yet, but I'm always coming across bugs and issues that should've been fixed. And easily would've been found by someone playing the game for the first time. This game could've been a 10/10, but right now, I think it's more like a 6-7/10. (which hurts because I have wanted this game to succeed since the beginning)
scam
Felt unfinished. And the grind is crazy at the end. Need to short major quality of life changes to make it playable to the end. I couldn't finish.
This had a great start but this was definitely rush ending made no sense and was all over the place.
I followed this game way back when it entered early access on steam in 2020, overall the game is pretty good in what will likely be it's "final" iteration as the dev has already stated there will be no new major content. **SPOILERS** Bugs that existed in the EA version seem to have been fixed as I ran into none when I played through the game. Towards the end of the game, you start to get the feeling that it was rushed and released in a 1.0 form, despite things like "under construction" appearing in certain scenarios like trying to interact with the threeghens at the mall when you go into the alternate universe for the first time or the monitor room (Evil Lair?) at the end where the game that takes place (where you meet Eloise after going into the alternate dimension the second time) not having proper background design as it literally looks like a rough sketch. There is also a lot of dialogue that seems to be inconsistent several times throughout the game such as (again) the epilogue where Lashley tells Eloise that she's the older sister when in the Lashley side objectives/route we hear that Eloise is the older sister, being an example. **SPOILERS END** I should mention they seem to be developing another game that they are putting all of their resources into now, which isn't a good look when this game could use a small patch to do some touchups at the very least. TL;DR Solid game that could stand to have a bit more work put in just to make it more presentable overall, but likely won't happen at devs own note regarding future updates per the patchnotes for 1.0, instead focusing on another game.
A Town Uncovered? More like a town that should stay covered. I thought I was walkin’ into a nice neighborhood, maybe a little romance, some intrigue. Instead, I got a front-row seat to a digital orgy. Everywhere I turn, there's some pixelated MILF or horny housewife tryin’ to drag me into their bedroom. The story? If you can call it that. It's like someone took a bad soap opera, added some bad art, and sprinkled in a bunch of sex scenes to distract you from the lack of plot. And the gameplay? Don’t make me laugh. It’s just clickin’ through dialogue boxes, hopin’ you pick the right option to get to the next sex scene. No depth, no challenge, just a bunch of awkward encounters. If you're lookin’ for a game with a story, character development, or anythin’ resembling quality, keep walkin’. This town’s got nothin’ to offer but bad decisions and worse animations. — Paulie “Walnuts” Gualtieri
