There should be really more of those games. An adventure game with nice puzzles, not to hard and a capturing story line. I really enjoyed the time spent on trying to kill Hitler.
Tags: Adventure - P&C - Point&Click Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: Walkthrough required. Stiff scripting. Old engine. Amateur voice acting. Heavy handed tone. Poor characterizations. Lacks immersion. This game sits akwardly between propaganda, historical revisionism, proper historical showcase, entertainment product and poorly paced movie. Most of the interactivity involves pixelhunting for hotspots and being read descriptions and fluff text. The amount of fluff text is strange in that the only types of people I could imagine being interested in it would be people with a deep historical affinity or people with vague nazi sympathies wanting to learn more. Still it is interesting to see things from a point of view within the Reich and you can tell that some thought has been made to represent that perspective. The game sorts of fudges things by making you a rebel and would be assassin for a coup to dethrone hitler. This is not without historical merit as the general outline of suh coup was historically attempted although I believe nothing like what is showcased in the game. The game does a fairly poor job of relaying to the player what exactly they are trying to accomplish. The game comes across as dry, almost bureaucratic in its delivery, following a walkthrough to cut on wasted time is a must. The dialogue has a robotic quality to it that is hard to pin down as well. Really makes the characters less believable. Conclusion: The game fails at really hooking the player in, getting them invested in the characters and the story. The showcase of the time period received attention, but it is almost conflicted... reluctant attention and the tone of the narrative suffers as a result. It would be better if the player could be made to realize by themselves that the Reich is bad rather than being told that it is repeatedly. Ultimately this game is way more forgettable than it has any right to be and I will be archiving it in my hidden library permanently for declutter.
Honestly, biggest fluke of a game I've bought in the past half a year. I cannot say it's a bad game, because I cannot even play it long enough to have an opinion. Here is what I encountered throughout my c.a. 3 hours of gameplay: 1. Windowed mode at 4:3 resolution which makes a part of the game unreachable (hidden behind my taskbar + going out of my display zone 2. Windowed mode unfixable by alt+enter or by launch commands on Steam 3. Crashed once 4. 5 times the game loaded a scene wrongly, hiding my cursor, my character, and the car, as well as leaving a desk-image on top of everything. I managed to "fix" the problem by blindly finding the path to a different scene, but it didn't work on another occasion. While this happens, I cannot make the menu come up either - so all unsaved data is lost at exiting the game (which at that point was the only option to realise any kind of change). 5. This seems to be an ongoing issue, judging by the game's boards. No one is there to fix it though. I strongly recommend the devs to fix all their bugs before presenting us with their games. This is a joke!
Feeling sad this game clearly had some potential +insense WWII's history +authentic visuals -clunky controls -gameplay issues. - lacks ,depth, length -short -poor voice acting -some puzzles are dumb
I did like the game quite a bit, as I'm a fan of point n click games. There were few parts i didnt like, for example, then constant backtracking, going back n forth btw old places and the poker game took me longer than i wanted to get through, but apart from that, I thought the game was top notch
This game has a lot of problems: bad voice acting (german accents mixed with american ones); the character is very slow to act; worst of all - it has a propensity to freeze during loadings (and there is a lot of loadings). Which is a pity, because it gives you an insight into the dark days of Germany during World War II. I cannot recommend it.
It looks pretty good and I'm always up for plotting against Hitler, but the experience was ruined by how long it took to get from place to place (even with the map to jump to a different general area) and a general drawn-out feeling like they purposely slowed down the progression to make the game last at least twice as long.
