About

Arem has lived his life surrounded by ocean waves and fields of dying grass. Upon his small island lies The Settlement, a community of just three thousand: the children of the sun. Passing the long years in prayer and simple work, the blessed people of the Island live and die by their traditions. Arem, like all young men and women of The Settlement, knows well the laws of his people: perform one's obligation for the greater good, and never enter The Well- a passage leading deep into the unknown earth below.
Raised as a Woundbearer, Arem greatly desires to come of age and do his part in improving the lives of his community- none more so than Sachita, the burning girl, shunned by The Settlement but whom he loves dearly.
Yet, when Arem is suddenly given the responsibilities he always dreamed of, he finds his certainty shattered by the truth of the horror held at The Settlement’s close reach. Now doubting the only life he's ever known, Arem embarks on a secret mission to save his people and unravel the true nature of his world.
Descending into the Well and desperately searching for answers, Arem comes to understand just how much he truly has to lose.

A Song of Sunlight features a novel pseudo-turn-based combat system that challenges players to fight for their lives against horrifying enemies. Make split-second calculated decisions, then attack, block, evade, and look for openings in real-time against multiple targets in thrilling combat encounters.
By day, carry out your duties to the Settlement and interact with its inhabitants to obtain resources and learn more about the world.
By night, explore desolate megastructures filled with mystery and danger, discover weapons and equipment lost to humanity, and customize your build to suit many distinct play styles.
A tightly woven intersection of gameplay and narrative, players will interact with the game world and characters in depth.

It's so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good
This game has a unique concept of combining a visual novel story with an engaging fast-paced combat. It has a dark story showcasing the psychology of the main characters and how their decisions and goals changes as they become obsessed with things, and the result to that. You will find out that it focus more on how the showcased character think about the situation they're in, leading to a slower paced story. This of course, is a bonus as without it, the story would be bland. Additionally, everytime you start fighting, lets say 'new area', you unlock a new combat mechanic. This makes the combat always engaging throughout the playthrough. Overall I spent 20 hours to finish both episode 1 and 2, and I totally recommend it. As it is weirdly free, there is no reason not to give it a shot.

it has amazing vibe that no other game will give ,storry is truly amazing aswell i realy enjoyed it and recomend it to every person that likes indie games with good story
Absolute Sunema
Cute game with a high amount of depression attached right on the side of it. Since it's criminally free, anyone should give it a try out. I was playing with KB+M, but that works out okay enough so you don't really need a controller, though I'd imagine that would make battle quite better.
really pleased to have found this trawling through my discovery queue! for $0 there's a ton of meat here, the combat system is fun and keeps things fresh and the world and story are great. i'm really happy that people are still making games like this. i have a couple random criticisms and gripes - there are some pacing problems (game is like 70% visual novel which is fine but the balance is not consistent), the sidequests kind of stop existing in chapter 2, there are annoying runbacks and difficulty spikes in the combat sections, but overall if it looks interesting to you at all, give it a try. it's worth your time!
This game has a really neat Blame! inspired story, along with interesting mechanics. However, the gameplay loop can be an absolute chore to get through.
