A Series of Temporal Mishaps is a platformer set in distinct eras of earth's history. Travel through time, steal the secrets of the ages, and run, jump, and puzzle your way home. The only catch: you're not very good at time-traveling.

Niiiice, I enjoyed this one, especially the desert wadi level. Funny bits of lore scattered around the levels combined with really nice music sets the tone for a really solid platformer! Promising stuff, look forward to more levels being added and the next game!
Before I played A Series of Temporal Mishaps, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
This 3D platformer looks nice but the controls are rough. The Arabian Kingdom level was the most difficult. However, I enjoyed all the facts about real life history. The achievements are easy if you are into those.

Desert level was a lot of fun and the Kingdom level puzzle was very satisfying once I figured it out. Great, short free game, can't wait for more levels!

"A Series of Temporal Mishaps" is a badly made 3D platformer where you journey through various eras of Earth's history (that presumably the developers could find on Unreal Marketplace/FAB)... which generally involves platforming and flicking the odd switch. Comical premises can only go so far, they need to be underpinned by solid technical delivery, which this lacks. What do you do in the game? Some of the worst first person parkour platforming ever to offend Steam Direct. Zero playtesting has been done, it's loose and janky and imprecise (and inconsistent). Platforming is a largely dead genre that relies on absolutely tight control feel and handling, none of which is present in this mess. I'm not sure if this is an asset flip, but it's one of those cases where the assets just look much better than the rest of the quality of the game... a glaring inconsistency. There's no evidence, but as always, the biggest problem with asset flips besides the plagiarism is the deplorably low quality of the other aspects of the game, and even if the game assets are genuinely created for the game, the quality of the rest of the game is indistinguishable from that of asset flips. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. Most "free" games on Steam aren't really free. There's usually some kind of monetisation, from nasty mobile app cash shops, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, to any other number of shady pricing schemes that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable, or something you might want to spend your time on. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 6 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? This one scores a "nope". While it won't necessarily cost you money, the time and hard drive space it requires could be better invested in one of the many higher-quality alternatives on Steam.

(2024/07/18) As a free-to-play game, I thought it was overall pretty good, until I played the last level namely 'Alpine Cathedral'. The background music in this level was loud and it did not fit the level well. I wanted to turn the volume down, only found that the whole volume system in this game was fake - you simply could not change the volume at all. The level design was atrocious, how long did I spend on crossing the 1st river? This last level had very little quality comparing to the previous levels, I do not even think that they tested it themselves. Their passion was gone from this game, probably the biggest reason why no more updates since 'Alpine Cathedral'.
