My OCD loves this game. My OCD hates this game. Thumbs down, only because it requires DLC to 100% the achievements.
the fact that half of achievements is behind dlc just not feels good man :( I still enjoyed playing it. great puzzles and art style but I would only recomend buying it on sales.
Cozy tidy game =/= that box puzzle. Yeah, nope.
This game was played in its entirety on a MacBook Air M1 8gb ram 7c gpu running MacOS Sonoma. There were no bugs or crashes throughout my time with the game. All achievements unlocked at their appropriate times. Unlike most of my reviews, I'm going to pay special attention to the prices of the game and its DLCs, as it is a bit more important than usual to touch upon for this review. A Little To The Left is an absolutely charming...relaxation device. I would not call it a puzzler, nor an adventure, nor a gadget. It is essentially like therapy, but instead of the therapist trying to help you work on your problems and issues, the therapist here is just trying to make you feel good. Playing this game is basically like praying at a shrine devoted to the little lizard part of your brain that sends out endorphins when "things make sense". Now, to be fair, sometimes "making things make sense" does involve quite a bit of trial and error and puzzle-solving deduction. Still, I stand by my statement that this game's main purpose is to make you feel happy. It does so in the most charming way possible, with special attention paid to the very relaxing but still upbeat music. I don't feel the need to talk too much about the consumer-facing aspects of the program. The graphics are good, the music is very appropriate, the sound effects do not get in the way, the difficulty is low but every now and then will stop and make you think. There is really nothing offensive in this game, and it's all quite mild. The same goes with the 100-day (though you could extend this to 365 days, but I will not) daily routine. These are slight offshoots of the main types of gameplay you will experience in the main story, though there are a few completely new gadgets/puzzles to solve here. They repeat endlessly though, so after I finished the 100 days (actually 90 days since you get a 10 day boost), I felt I had seen and done enough. Here's where the price discussion comes in: I DO NOT THINK the DLCs are worth it. This is not a normal position for me to take. If the game was good (and this one was), then I normally will enjoy the DLC for the game, even if it is just "more of the same". But, both DLCs here have some large issues to overcome, and first and foremost is the price of each. When I purchased them, they were more than double the price of the main game. Again, that can be "okay" depending on what's inside. This is really the only negative I can throw at the game: the DLCs are overpriced, under deliver, have some of the worst puzzles in the game, and also introduce new bugs. The puzzles are a problem. Many of them are of the same style as in the main game. Some are new. Among the new ones, there are a few whose solution is so incredibly obtuse, that even looking directly at every hint and even the final answer, I had zero idea how they were able to solve this and even what element or logic they were latching on to to uncover the answer in the first place. A lot of the puzzles in this game use a fairly simple physics engine to place and move items. It works great in the main game. In both of the DLCs, I repeatedly ran into issues with the physics engine. Pieces that were in their correct location would sometimes shoot out of their compartment as though spring-loaded. Items would sometimes vibrant violently upon being placed on top of another item (required for both puzzle solutions and odd achievements) before launching ALL items around the screen. Sometimes I would know the solution to a puzzle, but would be unable to physically get the pieces to move into the correct places. The solution was to just keep trying over and over again and they would eventually "click". Because of this, I would probably give both DLCs a thumbs down and advise to not purchase them. The main game, however, was thoroughly charming and enjoyable and I happily recommend it to anyone. TLDR: Playing this game is basically like praying at a shrine devoted to the little lizard part of your brain that sends out endorphins when "things make sense".
I wish there were 2 different modes for this game: One, where you do the puzzles as intended, and one where you do them your way. This is one of the bigger organizing games, which is great, but I was quite sad that I couldn't put things the way I wanted. For example, one puzzle I put away jewelry, and I wanted to organize it by color. However, the level would then not finish because we were °supposed° to organize the rings by something else (don't want to spoil). That sadly makes it less relaxing and fun for me, and more like a guessing game of what is expected. This is also why the hints weren't very good for me because I only wanted a nudge, not the complete solution. I think having an optional "soft hint", which could literally just be one word, e.g. "color", "shape", etc. would have been better, if I am supposed to stick to specific expectations. I also wasn't too fond of the cats. Don't get me wrong, pets of any kind are cute, but if I spend a long time organizing something, and then someone comes in to undo my work, that isn't very funny to me, it is more upsetting. I also feel that the "cat break levels" should have maybe been separate, as I wanted to organize things, and not pet a kitty, otherwise I would have played a simulator. I bought the DLCs, and liked the Drawer one best because it was literally just organizing drawers, cupboards, and alike. However, I do wish the levels would have been bigger or more complex, i.e. had more items. The Star DLC was sadly a bit disappointing, as I expected there to be some link to astrology, astronomy, stars, that kind of thing, but a lot of levels had nothing to do with either. I think it should have probably had a different name. Overall, the game is nice because it is as big as it is, but I wish I had more freedom to actually tidy up, unless it's a toolbox etc., where items need to go into specific slots. I will recommend it, but be aware that you are very bound.
稍微一點歪就不會讓你過,全程就必須買DLC而且還要每日打卡 (我個人是玩得挺躁的) 但有些整理還是挺舒服的
The extremely... different puzzles that are rarely rearing their head in this game are impossible for newcomers-yet they are a cycle of the same puzzles over and over again with one difficult and random, zero context puzzle pops in. I love and adore puzzles and always have, this game just needs a bit more variation. I love it, keep on going!
I have never given a negative review before and this is the first time that I have had to do it, the game itself is kind of cozy and relaxing however, my main problem is that sometimes the puzzle designs are terribly designed, while there are ones that i find challenging, some of the others are fascinating, a lot of them just do not make sense to me that you always have to open the hint but also the hint is not what I expected, instead of showing you some clues, it just shows you everything, which really breaks the experience I only bought this game because I had been playing it on mobile but it's not full and is more expensive to buy than here on steam so I figured I could buy it to relax when I don't know what to do or just multitask. I enjoyed it a bit but I ended up being disappointed after a few chapters only to realize that the puzzles aren't even interesting anymore. I don't think I would recommend it but I'll probably still be playing it sometime
