A Little To My Annoyance.

I love this game. This game is anti-stressing and very relaxing. It's fun going trough puzzles and the ability to see the answers. I love the cat that messes with my puzzle when I complete it. It helped me go trough very hard times and it is playable even offline which is great if your mother/family member cuts off wifi and you're unable to chat with friends. Thank you.

Although I can understand the dissonant moment of the advertised-as relaxing game becoming frustrating when you're held up for not picking up on someone else's arbitrary logic, it will never be as frustrating and arbitrary as the NYT connections

I wanted to love this game. I pined after this game for a really, really long time despite the lower price point (some of you may get me). Sadly... instead of cozy vibes and relaxation, I found this game pushing on my irritation more than anything else. I love the premise of the game and I adore most sorting and puzzle based things, but this one is too precise for me given how "on your own" things are. I'd fully know the solution to the puzzle but because things weren't in *completely unmarked* just-so spots, the game would not accept the solution. To speak for how difficult the puzzles are, I got half way through Chapter 2 in my playtime despite not rushing through everything and getting all but one of the alternate solutions on the puzzles, but ended up so severely irritated due to the just-so positioning that I threw my hands up and rage quit right before the two hour mark. Disclaimer: I used to actually work a job that was weirdly similar to this but with extremely detailed instructions and that may be part of why I was so severely irritated. Maybe skip if you did/do e-commerce photo work. Great in concept, beautiful art style, nice background music, but not the one for me.
oh man, a little to the left. i want to love this game, i do! but for every satisfying drawer puzzle and sorting segment, are there at least two puzzles of either no substance or sheer annoyance. i think my main gripe with alttl is the way the game is designed: are you a cozy game? a challenging one? a puzzle game? or an organisational sim? apparently, you are a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoyance. there are not 'hard' puzzles in this game. there are puzzles which you stare at for indefinite amount of times, questioning the resolution/colour saturation/optics of your pc and straining your eyes. or shuffling items around in an arbitrary manner. they are not skill-based, they are nightmare-based. good puzzle games give limited information, and let players make educated logical leaps given the information provided. alttl gives you a beautiful picture and a lining-up puzzle which requires nigh pixel-perfection to complete. perhaps i'm neurotic. but frankly, for the price this game retails at, not even including dlcs, i think anybody would be driven mad. if you have a steely patience and an ability to let things lie, this is a wonderful game. for completionists, good luck. in the end, alttl is the most teeth-grinding 6/10 i've given. the saving grace are those wonderfully replayable drawers puzzles-- unfortunately from the dlc-- and the beautifully intuitive sound design.
you know what? between the achievements locked behind DLC, the moments of "how is anyone supposed to see THAT", and the stupid f*cking calendar puzzles that appear in daily tidies, this game was...fun! The satisfaction in the campaign is pretty nice and soothing and destressing, the puzzles do have a surprising amount of highs in terms of satisfying my ocd, and the game is generous with giving hints, ensuring you won't ever get stuck stuck (most of the time).
