About

A la Card is a food truck deckbuilding roguelike where you'll mix and match the best aspects of every card you find to create absurd synergies and make new discoveries every time you play!

Stick the effect of one food onto another. Change what triggers that effect in the first place. Swap stats, inherit flavours, and cook up clever combinations no one else will.

Every run is an ebb and flow of cramming as many calories as possible into the window before hittin' the road to slap together the most powerful cards you can conceive of. These people want food? Oh you'll give them food.

But it won't be enough to just make a really big burger. Zany bosses bring self-contained puzzles to navigate, testing your deck's flexibility. They'll slip you a card and refuse to leave until you serve it to them or clog the window with half-eaten scrap. You'd better be able to improvise.
Served with a garnish of tasty tunes made to order by Josh Whelchel.

Features:
Sequence your cards to make the most of their effects. Skilled players are rewarded for clever plays.
Combine the calories of your ingredients using powerful recipes, creating space to serve even more food!
Random special events provide opportunities to change each and every detail of your cards: the colours, calories, effects, how you trigger those effects, and more!
Each starting deck has a unique and powerful trinket that deeply impacts how it plays, and you'll find more trinkets to mix and match throughout your runs.
Presiding over each location is a memorable boss with a unique ability. When big numbers aren't enough, you'll have to get creative!
Win runs to unlock more starting decks, trinkets, and release even more cards into the pool for future runs.
Revisit your favourite decks to take on special challenges and earn coveted stars!
With hundreds of cards and dozens upon dozens of mid-game events and upgrades, no two runs are ever the same.

A perfect example of the "game breaker" roguelike! If I was just rating it on music and humor, it'd already be a 10/10. But given how fun it is to play it's "a smoothie of strawberries, chicken stock, naan, and eggshells"/10.
I think it's a good game, but for me definitely not for relaxing after a busy day, you really need your brain to still be working (which is a good thing, just a little unexpected for me). The game was overwhelming for me at first, because it can get pretty complicated. But the more I play and learn, the better it gets and the more fun I have. Update: I don't really like the progression. I've now won with each deck twice and still haven't unlocked a new deck (or anything else I think?). I checked the conditions for unlocking the decks, but even when I try to hit them, RNG is against me. So I feel stuck now. I am pretty bad at this kind of game though, so maybe it's just me being bad and not having found one of those great combinations yet.

Great and fun deckbuilder, can be a bit complex to wrap your head around but it's easy to build engines and break the game open
Surprisingly addictive and fun roguelite where you make food and serve it to a variety of wacky customers! It gets quite indepth and confusing, especially later on in a run, but it's still really fun to make the mother of all venisons by feeding an endlessly regenerating tomato to it!
If you like deckbuilders, A la Card is a lot of fun. It’s easy to pick up, but there’s plenty of room to experiment with different card combos, so each run feels a little different. The art is colorful, the music’s catchy, and it’s the kind of game where you keep saying “one more run.” It feels like a nice middle ground between Balatro and Slay the Spire. There's a chance you can get as combo-crazy as Slay the Spire, and nearly as intense or complex as Balatro. It makes the game really satisfying to play. If you enjoy card roguelikes and want something fresh, this one’s definitely worth checking out.
Masterpiece. Truly something special
I FIND YOUR GAME FETCHING
Ive been adoring this game for weeks now!! the devs are also lovely, ive been playing it on stream and a few of them have joined and chatted with us!!
This game is a glorious and joyful deck-builder with a lot of hidden depth. ommmmnomnomnom
I have never left a review for a game before but I feel like this game needs more recognition, it's incredibly fun and I'm so charmed by it and maybe a little addicted. Once you get the hang of the game play you'll start to find some pretty crazy combos. Best Roguelite deck builder that's come out in a long time, not to mention that they're continueing to update and add new content, love to see it.
