About
This is a game about boxes! Where you play as a box, summoning boxes, while learning about boxes and all their useful uses. Will you accept our cardboard overlords? Will you not do that?.. It's up to you I guess.
A GAME ABOUT BOXES is a short platformer based story where you interact with the games narrator whilst learning all about boxes and their useful usefulness. As you make choices whether to follow the narrators instructions or delve into its frustrations you'll discover multiple endings and secrets whilst deciding your little boxes fate.
Enjoy the hollow, empty atmosphere, accompanied by original ambience and music including "Eating Chicken Almonds and Rice" by ACardboardBox, "Forest Noise" by ACardboardBox and hit song "Unpalpable Joy" by ACardboardBox.
but not too outside cause then you might break the experience and we wouldn't want that now would we...

A Games About Boxes is one of those puzzle games in which one playthrough affects what happens in the next, and in which some secrets must be found by moving beyond the apparent boundaries. The trouble is that this kind of game blurs the distinction between intentional side-effects and actual errors - for example the main character suddenly becomes invisible on the screen (even after the recent patches) but can still be moved and can still interact with other objects. Only once in many runs have I found a particular area (
a singing box
) and the main character was invisible that time - so is the invisibility crucial to that discovery or irrelevant? The game is equally brilliant & baffling, boundary-breaking & excruciating, and funny & frustrating. It gives great satisfaction when working out a way to get past an obstacle or challenge, and teeth-grinding, seething anger when, yet again, you are dumped back at a beginning point (particularly noticeable in
the far too gloomy forest section
after failing or falling or flailing around trying to find something or understand why something you did on a previous run no longer has the same outcome on the current one. The first time I tried
moving outside the ending credits, I got a "Why are you here?" dialogue
, but I've never been able to repeat this - again, an error or part of the game? I am still two missing two achievements ("thinking outside the box" and "horse") but, for now at least, I can't think of anything else to try so I'm giving up and going to play something more predictably enjoyable. But I'm sure that I'll be back...

I enjoy games like these very much. It is a small glimpse into the bigger picture of a game dev's life. I am feeling very boxy.
Yes! Very good, short and fun for ~1,5h if you want all the achievements. The only problem I have with the game it is that it closes the game fully instead of just going to a main menu, but I understand the choice. Honestly a promising future for the dev, keep up the good work.
i've learned how to love boxes as much as A Cardboard Box does. Boxes are truely the most wonderful thing out there [strike] if youre not including soup [/strike]
cool game but i cant find horse for 20 mins and i did out of bounds ending and i dont get the achievement
I love those games where you just go for a relaxing stroll in nature with your loving family waiting for you at home. Truly a peaceful experience! 5 boxes / cardboard

This game is very charming!! Absolutely give it a shot, it won't take up too much of your time. Short, but sweet puzzle game with a couple surprises. Spread the good news about how wonderful boxes are, tell your friends!! You will learn to love boxes.. or else :)

The sequel to Box Clicker doesn't disappoint... With the most amazing and hyper-realistic graphics known to mankind, critics around the globe have been inclined to start giving out scores above 100/100. Not to mention the revolutionary story-driven gameplay that rivals The Last of Us, which is the least notable of this game's glory. While many games only have small pieces of glory (at most, glory half), this game is the embodiment of glory whole. The story of a man and his family, broken apart for a time beyond time. YOU decide the name of your kids to give their deadly fate after thousands of in-game years of effort a feel much more painful. This game can only be described with 9 words: Literally The Best Thing Ever Literally Made Ever (Literally). 101/100. This game has changed my life forever. FOREVER!
