This is a short VN that takes about 2 hours to finish. Plus it has voice overs which sound like the Saturday morning cartoons, albeit not as professional but still passable and kind of cute. The art is basically horrendous. The story is also like watching a Saturday morning cartoon. The story isn't anything to speak of really, but it's passable. The dialog however adds to it, as it's kind of cute and keeps you entertained. If this wasn't a FREE VN I would have to give it a Neutral. But since it's free, and it also appears that they put alot of love into making it I'll give it a thumbs up. However like I said, it's like watching a Saturday morning cartoon really. The story is something that would appeal to little kids, however some of the *interactions* are not yet in this day and age deemed suitable for kids, but I imagine 10 years from now where people would be more open minded that now, this would be deemed OK to show as a Saturday morning cartoon :) Here is a toast to when that day comes, and all hate, negativity, social biases, xenophobia, racism, sexism, etc have been purged from our world and love reigns supreme. A very nice, short yuri game with a flavour of competently thought-out sci-fi, following a space explorer that crashes on an alien planet and develops a bond with a local alien that saves her life. This is a Yuri Game Jam project and while these kinds of games are usually very limited in scope and quality, due to time and budget constraints, Watercress Studios always approach them with a lot of ambition. In the case of A Field of Flowers and Stars, the main thing that stands out is very competent voice acting – there are three characters central to the story and all of their dialogue is fully voiced. The VN also very solid in the art department and uses a very minimalistic, but well-fitting soundtrack. Story-wise, it's a bit too short for its own good, but it's enjoyable in what content is there. The protagonist is rather well-developed, immediately showing her brash and independent mindset, and interacting with her AI navigator in a fun, snarky manner. The crash that wrecks her ship to a possibly unrecoverable degree is not only a problem by getting her stranded, but also threatens to destroy her freelance-explorer lifestyle and freedom she cherishes above anything else. This makes the stakes high for her and her anxiety pretty relatable. The alien that accompanies her in her quest to repair her spaceship is a bit less developed – we get a decent look into her personality, but very little on her background and things that motivate her. Still, she's appealing enough to work as a love interest and while the romance and drama feel a bit rushed, they work well enough partially because she's immediately likeable. Same goes for the ending, which just gives you enough fuzzy feelings to make all nitpicking quite pointless. It's a bit of a shame this VN didn't get slightly more content and better pacing, but for a free project, you can only expect that much without being unreasonable. And as a bite-sized G/G romance... Wishing for more is really the only thing I can complain about. Bir asteroide çarpan bir uzay gemisiyle ilgili bir oyun. Bu sadece iki karakter hakkında bir hikaye (tamam, üç, bir yapay zeka robotunun kamera hücresi ile). Benim için burada her şey iyi yapıldı ve Watercress'in geliştiricileri (ve diğerleri) romanın uygulanmasına en iyi şekilde yatırım yaptılar, çünkü olay örgüsü, karakterlerin animasyonu ve onların tam seslendirmeleri (!) berbat çıktı Oyuncağın genel izlenimi için önemli unsurlar. A Field of Flowers and Stars is not a game, it's an e-book ("Visual novel" is another term that writers use when trying to disguise an e-book as a game) that's been launched on Steam as a game, despite not being one. As a visual/interactive novel, this doesn't feature any notable gameplay, it's just a lot of clicking through badly written dialogue that would never have been accepted or published in print, which presents the question, "How did something this badly written end up on Steam?". When someone hoping to become an author is unable to get published in print, they spend $100 and dump their high school fan-fiction onto Steam, under the guise of a game. This e-book was slapped together with the godawfully bad Ren'Py Visual Novel/E-Book construction kit, so just like no professional writing took place here, no professional game development took place either, it's just a product of filling out templates in the construction kit. The topic of this e-book is to badly portray a lesbian/"yuri" relationship between manga-ripoff styled girls in a sci-fi setting. Whatever. Visual novels/e-books are tedious at best... imagine the best novel you ever read, be that Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy or 2001: A Space Odyssey or Twilight (if you have terrible taste in literature), but then translate that to a format where the words dribble out and you have to click your mouse every time you wanted to read the next sentence, instead of just turning the pages. You'd think it was garbage. Now imagine that experience, but with much worse writing (because if these guys could write professionally, they'd be published authors and this would be on shelves in bookstores, and they wouldn't have to pay Valve $100 to self-publish this on Steam), and you have your average Steam e-book.

[i]A Field of Flowers and Stars[/i] is a short, yuri romance visual novel about a crashlanded space explorer, her snarky AI companion, and a native alien girl. The 2-hour-long story is well-written with good pacing and excellent dialogue brought to life by great voice acting. The three main characters (Raine, Leona, and Juneau) are charming and life-like, a testament to the skill of the writing team. The character designs are great and the background art is perfectly serviceable, though not outstanding. The music and sound design do an excellent job supporting the narrative, though I did not find any particular track particularly noteworthy.

Decent story, cute relationship, good voice acting, not overstaying its welcome and it's free. What's holding you up? Just download and play this game!

Игра о крушении космического корабля на астероиде(?). Это история всего-лишь о двух персонажах (окей, трёх, с эпизодическим участием ИИ-робота). По мне дак здесь всё сделано добротно и разработчики Watercress (с остальными) туточки вложились в реализацию новелки лучше всего, ибо сюжет, анимации персонажек и их полная озвучка(!) оказались чертовски важными элементами для общего впечатления от игрушки. Единственное что: хотелось бы большей проработки локаций, которых здесь итак немного. В целом же считаю лучшей игрушкой от данной компашки(?) разработчиков.
