7 Jobs at the Same Time is such a painfully relatable idea that I found it funny almost immediately. I play as a recent graduate who has student debt to pay, starts with a normal office job and then slowly takes on more and more work until I am juggling several jobs at once. I really liked the way the game turns the feeling of being overwhelmed by work into a simple but surprisingly stressful little simulation. The gameplay is built around point and click tasks that I have to complete as efficiently as possible. Spreadsheet work starts things off, while later jobs introduce different activities such as sorting files and handling more unusual responsibilities. I liked that the tasks keep changing instead of making me repeat the exact same action, because every new job adds another thing for me to remember. The time management is easily my favorite mechanic. I have a limited amount of time, so I have to constantly switch between jobs and decide what needs my attention first. Once several tasks are active at the same time, even something that sounds easy can become surprisingly difficult. I enjoyed that pressure because the game captures that feeling of having too many things open on my computer and knowing that something is going to get forgotten. The presentation also works really well with the concept. The simple two dimensional office style makes everything look almost harmless, while the audio creates a much more stressful feeling. There is no traditional soundtrack constantly telling me how to feel, so the sounds of the workplace and the different tasks become part of the tension. The game also uses dark humor to make the situation even more absurd as the jobs become increasingly ridiculous. The biggest weakness for me is the lack of depth after I understand the basic tasks. The experience is intentionally short and linear, so there is not much room for long term progression or experimentation. Once I have learned how each job works, the challenge mostly comes from doing everything faster and handling the increasing workload. I think more job types or different scenarios could have made the concept last much longer. I also appreciated the way the story slowly changes the tone. What starts as a silly work simulator gradually becomes more uncomfortable as the pressure builds and the consequences of trying to do everything at once become clearer. I liked that the game does not need complicated storytelling to make its point. The absurd workload is enough to sell the idea. Overall, 7 Jobs at the Same Time is a clever little management game that turns everyday work stress into something genuinely entertaining. I liked the variety of tasks, the constant time pressure and the dark humor surrounding the whole situation. It is very short and there is not much replay value beyond improving my performance, but the central idea is strong enough that I had a great time with it. Rating: 7.5/10
