It's like Chicken Invaders........Without the Chickens.
I like shooting alien ships.
2 dollars US ppl are complaing about this game seriously get more happening in your lives. It's entertaining for anyone who just likes to play retro games for a short amount of time.
This Game is AWESOME!!! If you Liked Space Invaders You Will LOVE This Game

1979 Invasion Earth is a small-scale indie shooter that wears its nostalgia proudly, delivering a straightforward homage to the earliest days of arcade gaming. Developed by Jonni The Dodger and published by Ecomasphere, the game is less concerned with modern reinvention and more focused on recreating the feel of classic alien-invasion shooters from the late 1970s and early 1980s. It positions itself as a deliberately simple, arcade-inspired experience meant to be enjoyed in short, repeatable sessions rather than as a deep or evolving single-player campaign. The premise is intentionally barebones: alien forces are attacking Earth, and the player’s sole responsibility is to shoot them down before they overwhelm the screen. This simplicity is reflected in the structure of the game, which is divided into several distinct modes rather than a single, linear progression. Each mode explores a slightly different interpretation of the same core mechanics, allowing players to engage with the action in ways that emphasize survival, precision, or competition. This modular design helps keep the experience from feeling completely one-note, even though the underlying mechanics remain consistent throughout. Arcade Mode is the most traditional of the offerings, presenting fixed or semi-fixed screens filled with descending enemies and limited lives, echoing the tension and pacing of early coin-operated cabinets. Survival Mode shifts the focus toward endurance, asking players to last as long as possible against increasingly aggressive waves that test reaction speed and spatial awareness. Skillshot Mode removes enemy fire entirely, turning the experience into a test of accuracy and efficiency rather than evasive movement. These variations don’t radically change the gameplay, but they do provide different rhythms that cater to different player preferences. One of the more notable inclusions is the local two-player competitive mode, which allows friends to face off in head-to-head shooting challenges. While limited to local play and constrained by basic control options, this mode adds a social element that fits well with the game’s arcade roots. It recalls the kind of casual rivalry that once defined shared arcade cabinets, even if it lacks the depth or longevity of modern multiplayer systems. As with the rest of the game, it works best as a brief diversion rather than a long-term competitive platform. Visually and aurally, 1979 Invasion Earth commits fully to a minimalist retro style. Graphics are simple, readable, and functional, prioritizing clarity over detail. Enemy designs, projectiles, and player movement are easy to track, which is essential given the increasing speed and density of later waves. Sound effects and music are similarly stripped down, evoking classic arcade tones rather than aiming for atmospheric immersion. This lo-fi presentation reinforces the game’s identity but also limits its appeal to players seeking richer audiovisual experiences. The biggest limitation of the game lies in its scope. Enemy variety is limited, and repeated play can begin to feel repetitive once patterns are learned. There are no progression systems, unlockables, or online features to extend longevity, so engagement depends entirely on the player’s enjoyment of score chasing and self-imposed challenges. Control options and accessibility features are also minimal, which may feel restrictive to players accustomed to modern standards of customization. Despite these constraints, 1979 Invasion Earth succeeds on its own terms as a budget-friendly throwback. It doesn’t attempt to modernize arcade shooters or add complex mechanics, instead delivering a clean, uncomplicated experience that respects its inspirations. For players with an appreciation for early video game history, or for those looking for a simple, no-frills shooter to play in short bursts, it offers a nostalgic slice of alien-blasting action that feels sincere and focused. Ultimately, 1979 Invasion Earth is best viewed as a tribute rather than a transformation. Its value lies not in innovation, but in faithfully capturing the rhythm, challenge, and immediacy of classic arcade shooters. While its appeal is undeniably niche, those who enjoy retro design philosophies and minimalist gameplay loops may find it a charming and enjoyable reminder of gaming’s earliest battles against invading aliens. Supervermakelijk en moeilijker dan het lijkt. Gegarandeerd uren spelplezier! De muziek is gekmakend btw :-)
