[i]100 hidden Cthulhu fish 2[/i] is a hidden object game developed and published by Sons of Welder and FM Simple Games Studio. It is the second game in the [i]hidden Cthulhu fish[/i] series although I haven't played the first one. However, I played all of the hidden kitty games by this developer. Anyway, the objective is to find all 100 Cthulhu fish in an underwater scene, with a bonus scene unlocked afterwards. The bonus scene contains an additional 100 Cthulhu fish. Now, one might ask - what is a Cthulhu? According to a source, Cthulhu are sort of a mix of a green octopus, dragon, and human although that is a simple way of defining it. Getting back to the game itself, you can only play in full screen mode, but you can adjust both the music and sound in the game's settings. Of course, there are lots of Steam achievements, but they won't count towards a user's global total until the game is out of "profile features limited".
I'll admit that the game caught my interest, simply because I had to find out what a Cthulhu is. lol On a serious note, though, I enjoyed this developer's other HOGs, mainly the [i]hidden Cats[/i] series. Since I was sent a review copy of this game, I decided to give it a try. The gameplay is the same as in the [i]hidden Cats[/i] series. You click on the Cthulhu fish using your left mouse button, and you use the mouse wheel to zoom in and out of the scenes. Also, like in [i]100 hidden Cats: Kitty House[/i], you hold the right mouse button and drag the mouse to move around parts of the scene. I found using the right mouse button to be a bit cumbersome, but this is an older game, so I'm aware that the newer games use the directional keys on the keyboard. However, I had no trouble finding all the fish and obtaining all of the Steam achievements. If you do run into problems finding those couple of elusive fish, the following guide is quite handy:

Regarding the art, I like the hand-drawn style, as it's a staple in the other HOGs by this developer. It definitely has that Lovecraftian style, which I'm vaguely familiar with. The colors are mostly in black and white, with black being the line art. When you find a fish, it's colored in light green. The backgrounds make you feel like you're underwater as you're searching for all the fish.

With the music, a couple of tracks are present, one for when you're in the game's main menu and the other for when you're playing the scenes. They have this quiet, relaxing beat, making you feel like you're in this fantasy, underwater world. Also, they're a great accompaniment as you play.
Overall, would I recommend [i]100 hidden Cthulhu fish 2[/i]? If you enjoy hidden object games, want to play one that is a bit different from the usual ones out there, wish to play a shorter game, and/or are looking to obtain Steam achievements, then it's worth checking out. It has a low asking price, but you can always wait for a sale, and it's in a few Steam bundles, so you can save a bit if you already have the other games in a bundle.
