I'm quite satisfied, frankly yea thats good guys
Fun game. Simple but fun. You can get all the achievements in 10 minutes but it's fun to see how far you can go cuz it increasingly gets harder and harder. But for a dollar it's actually a lot of fun.
at the time of writing this i am the best zombocity player sitting at the top of leaderboards! pretty fun game even off sale worth it for a silly arcade game to kill time video: https://youtu.be/1jGoa_lQAk4
“Zombocity” is a compact, arcade-style first-person shooter that embraces a minimalist aesthetic and a straightforward premise: you are dropped into a neon-soaked urban environment where increasingly aggressive waves of zombies push toward you from all sides, and your goal is simply to survive as long as possible. Developed and published by cnsgames, the title focuses entirely on delivering short bursts of action rather than unfolding a narrative or building a complex world. From the very first moments, the game signals what it wants to be—accessible, immediate, and centered on reflex-driven combat. It requires no tutorials, no orientation, and no lengthy introduction; instead, it thrusts you directly into the chaos of a city overrun by the undead, relying on the purity of its simple loop to create engagement. The setting, though minimal in detail, carries a distinct flair thanks to its low-poly, neon-lit presentation. The bold color contrasts and sharp edges evoke the feel of retro arcade shooters while maintaining a modern sense of readability and visual clarity. This stripped-down art direction means performance is generally smooth, even on low-spec hardware, making the game accessible to players who may not have the capability to run larger, more demanding shooters. Despite this, the world itself feels deliberately sparse. Buildings, streets, and enemy models serve as functional components rather than richly textured scenes, reinforcing that the experience prioritizes gameplay over atmosphere or storytelling. The result is an urban arena that feels more like a stylized battleground than a lived-in city, but this cleaner approach keeps your attention squarely on the action. Gameplay in “Zombocity” revolves around endurance. Each session challenges you to fend off waves of zombies while your score steadily climbs. As time progresses, the pressure intensifies: more enemies spawn, their patterns shift, and your ability to maintain awareness and movement becomes crucial. This focus on escalation and reflex testing appeals to players who enjoy the purity of high-score chasing. With Steam achievements and global leaderboards included, the game encourages not only self-improvement but also competition against others—an important feature for arcade-focused titles. The design philosophy leans fully into the idea of short, repeatable runs. A single session may last only a few minutes, but the structure invites repeated attempts in pursuit of better scores or longer survival times. However, this narrow focus also marks the boundary of the game’s appeal. Because “Zombocity” hinges almost entirely on the loop of “shoot zombies, earn points, repeat,” the gameplay can become repetitive quickly. There are no story-driven breaks, no environmental progression, no new objectives, and limited variation in enemy types. The lack of deeper mechanics—weapon upgrades, resource management, area transitions, or skill progression—means that the player’s experience in the first few minutes is a reliable reflection of what the next several hours will offer. For some, that straightforwardness is a welcome return to arcade simplicity; for others, it limits the game’s longevity and reduces the excitement of repeated playthroughs. Without periodic surprises or layers of evolving complexity, runs may begin to feel identical once the initial novelty fades. The small player base further shapes the experience. With few active players and a sparse pool of reviews, the community surrounding the game is quiet. This affects leaderboard competition, player discussion, and the visibility of potential improvements or balancing changes. While not uncommon for ultra-small indie titles, the absence of an active audience inevitably reduces the social dimension that often enhances the replay value of score-driven games. It also means the game’s rough edges—small content scope, limited enemy variety, and absence of refinement in visual and auditory feedback—stand out more clearly, since there is no broader community momentum or ongoing support to push the game forward. Despite its limitations, “Zombocity” succeeds at delivering what it most clearly aims for: a clean, uncomplicated zombie shooter that can be enjoyed in short, intense bursts. Its neon-city aesthetic and low-poly charm give it a recognizable visual identity, and the focus on pure survival provides an immediate and repeatable challenge. For players who enjoy minimalist action games, or who want a fast-paced distraction without intricate systems or long-term commitment, it can offer a satisfying dose of arcade fun. But for those seeking depth, narrative engagement, rich world-building, or substantial content variety, the game’s simplicity will likely feel insufficient. In the end, “Zombocity” stands as a lightweight, narrowly focused entry in the zombie shooter space—modest in ambition, modest in execution, and best appreciated for brief, reflex-driven sessions rather than extended play. Rating: 6/10
「♥Zombocity♥」
