3/10 Zombie Pirates is a minimal tower defense game where you fight against zombies in pirate ships. Clunky, ugly, and deeply flawed. Zombie Pirates is an extremely below average tower defense game. Place pirate ships with varying combat abilities fighting against zombies in pirate ships. There’s an overarching storyline to follow while playing but it isn’t the main center of the game and isn’t implemented very well, if you’re paying attention I feel like we’re the bad guys. I didn’t encounter any bugs while playing. I couldn’t get myself to play more than ten minutes of this title. The art style wasn’t for me and the mechanics were very clunky with minimal world building or unique differences from other tower defense games to keep me playing. For example, a lot of the gameplay is close range but there isn’t any way to dodge oncoming attacks so it becomes a free for all once you get close enough to the zombie ships. Everything felt very repetitive and clunky including the sound effects and music used. No achievements. Pros

There is a story albeit not a great one.
Didn’t encounter any bugs.
Cons

The story.
Extremely clunky gameplay.
Repetitive.
Run-Of-The-Mill tower defense game.
Average sound effects and music choices.
No achievements.
Frustrating.
To see more reviews like this one, support me by following my curating page: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/46085490-SumiSux-At-Games/
bardzo fajna prosta gra typu TD w dodatku w pirackim stylu! mamy statek, mozemy budowac jeszcze wiecej (a nawet musimy), i to sa te nasze 'wieze', co wiecej mozemy sie nimi poruszac, mozemy ulepszac bron, miec dodatkowe 'czary', ogolnie gra fajna, ma jakas tam fabule, w ktora mozna sie nawet wciagnac :) ogolnie polecam!
simplistic mechanics, repetitive and boring after a very short while. it may ramp up latter in the game but give the simplicity of the game itself. it really should present the more interesting things much earlier on.
Avoid like the plague, good thing I got it for free :D
It is the basic mobile game experience. On par with early Flash games. I had no technical issues (on Win10) except for the name input glitching the whole game up until restarted. It's a dollar store game.

Tags: Casual - Tower Defense Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: Low production value spam-fest tower defense with no tooltips or no options menu. Fully voice acted and flash game comic style aesthetic. A handful of of ship types and a few special powers (bombs) to toss around. Game is laneless due to it being water-based, the cannonballs behave strangely with them honing on targets like heat seeker missiles more than actual cannonballs.. Setting and exposition and seems to just take the general setting of monkey island with a blonde haired pirate going against zombie pirate. Then again it could be a pirates of the carribean rip off too whom I vaguely blame for stealing monkey island's lore. All in all this would border on acceptable on a tablet, as you slowly grind more content out but as a sit down PC entertainment experience it is very lackluster and does not have the addictive nature of pop cap's legendary plants vs zombies. It is an easy recipe to screw up as you need a very solid hook right away, preferably in the form of audio or visuals or inventive tower types to capture your audience. This just follows a formulaeic outline and sends your brainwaves into tuned out boredom in short order.
