You have to applaud the devs for their effort. All they ever wanted was to grab your money. They could have just robbed you at gun point, but instead they went out of their way to make this game for that. Isn't that very sweet of them?
The original years ago was much better than this remake/upgrade. The dialogue that's supposed to tell you what to do is missing entirely, There are things you're supposed to do with your base with no explanation preventing the game from progressing. Overall, they made this game worse when they decided to make this a cash grab with no real functionality. Of course tried to review this early but Steam won't let you review it unless you have at minimum 5 minutes of game play. But when you can't progress the game at the one minute mark it makes Steams review policy feel really dumb.

Great Game but look at that kitty, whoever pass by can pet it and give it a thumbs up. Have a nice day :3 /> フ | _ _ l /` ミ_xノ / | / ヽ ノ │ | | | / ̄| | | | | ( ̄ヽ__ヽ_)__)
For some unkown reason, the game has reset itself to the very beginning. All the progress made were lost after 88 hours of gaming. Very disappointing.
...Yikes. While the premise seems like it would be fun, it gets old very fast and that's saying something for only playing 8 minutes. Of course, the game crashed twice and none of the dialog or text for notifications loads. It seems like a very, VERY basic setup for microtransactions and honestly? Newgrounds has much better.

Zombie Gunship Survival is a rare example of a zombie-themed game that succeeds by changing the player's perspective entirely. Developed and published by Flaregames, the title abandons the familiar formula of scavenging abandoned buildings and instead places players in command of a heavily armed AC-130 gunship. From high above the battlefield, players provide cover for ground troops attempting to reclaim territory from overwhelming undead forces. This premise immediately gives the game a unique identity, blending military operations, strategic resource management, and survival mechanics into a package that feels refreshing despite the genre's saturation. The game's greatest strength lies in how effectively it captures the fantasy of wielding overwhelming firepower. Missions unfold through thermal imaging displays that recreate the look of military surveillance footage, lending every encounter an authentic and cinematic atmosphere. Players switch between various weapons, ranging from rapid-fire autocannons to devastating heavy artillery, each carrying a satisfying sense of impact. Watching dozens of zombies disappear beneath a barrage of shells never loses its appeal, particularly as enemy waves become larger and more aggressive. The combination of visual effects, sound design, and the constant tension of protecting allies on the ground creates a gameplay loop that remains entertaining long after the opening hours. Outside of combat, Zombie Gunship Survival introduces a robust progression system centered around building and maintaining a survivor base. Resources collected during missions are used to upgrade facilities, research improvements, and strengthen the remaining pockets of humanity. Expanding headquarters and unlocking new capabilities creates a rewarding sense of advancement, making every successful operation feel meaningful. The game smartly ties its progression mechanics into its narrative themes, emphasizing humanity's struggle to rebuild in a world that has been pushed to the brink of extinction. Recruiting personnel and investing in infrastructure add an additional strategic layer that prevents the experience from becoming a simple arcade shooter. Mission variety also helps sustain interest over time. Objectives extend beyond eliminating enemies, often requiring players to escort survivors, defend key positions, or ensure extraction teams reach safety. Enemy behavior evolves as the campaign progresses, demanding greater precision and more thoughtful use of ammunition. Upgrading equipment becomes increasingly important, encouraging experimentation with different weapon combinations and tactical approaches. However, the game's origins as a mobile release remain visible in certain aspects of its design. Progression can occasionally feel slower than necessary, and players may encounter moments where grinding for resources becomes an unavoidable part of the experience. While these elements do not ruin the game, they occasionally interrupt its otherwise strong pacing. Presentation remains one of the title's most memorable qualities. The thermal aesthetic gives Zombie Gunship Survival a distinctive visual style that separates it from countless other zombie games on the market. Explosions carry considerable weight, radio communications help establish a believable military atmosphere, and environmental details make each mission area feel appropriately desolate. There is a consistent sense that players are participating in a larger conflict rather than isolated skirmishes, reinforcing the game's central theme of organized resistance against an impossible threat. Zombie Gunship Survival ultimately succeeds because it commits wholeheartedly to its concept. It delivers a satisfying blend of tactical action and long-term progression while offering a perspective rarely seen in zombie games. Although some mobile-inspired mechanics occasionally limit the experience, the excitement of raining destruction from the skies, protecting vulnerable survivors, and gradually rebuilding civilization gives the game a compelling identity. For players looking for a zombie title that approaches the genre from a different angle, Zombie Gunship Survival provides an engaging and surprisingly addictive experience that remains enjoyable even years after its original release.
