"Yuligans: Christmas is Coming!" is a weird browser game, basically the idea is that you and your friends (note: As usual, if you ask your friends to play awful games like this you soon won't have any friends) look at a basically static screen with a little bit of cartoony art and click through a bunch of menus. This somehow simulates elves preparing for Christmas... but it's a yawnfest, relying on the Christmas "brand" and nostalgia over any substance itself, because apart from Christmas, this is bringing almost nothing at all to the table. It's just lazy devs trying to cash in on the holidays by publishing what might as well be a web page on Steam for profit. So, it's hard to describe this as a game, the focus of the product is more like that of an e-book/visual novel, there's only minor, shallow and uninteresting gameplay elements. The crux of this is to push some very low quality, badly done fan-fiction tier writing, where we see once more a developer fail to understand the importance of "Show, don't tell", and for whatever reason, weren't able to convey their narrative through gameplay, giving us endless lines of badly written e-book text instead. My gaming rig is not a kindle. For gameplay purposes, because the user interface for this game is mostly just 2D static text/images... it might as well be a web page. It's functionally no different from a browser game. And we all know, Steam isn't here to compete with Chrome and Firefox. If the game can be done in a web browser, it's just not rich or compelling enough to appeal to serious gamers on PC. The game features really lacklustre 2D visuals (does the developer not know 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid-1990s?). Gamers don't spend thousands of dollars on gaming rigs and the latest 3D graphics cards to play 2D games. Even mobile phones and game consoles can do 3D graphics now. There's no excuse. This game is fairly dated at 5 years old... and even back then it looked old and busted compared to contemporary, professionally made 3D games of the same period. It looked bad then, it looks worse now. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. There's no initial download price, but the developer was charging $10 USD for this. Yeah, ten bucks!!! Holy crap. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It seems like a nice gesture for the game to have no up-front cost anymore, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. This is also a bit of a slap in the face to anyone who showed enough questionable judgement to pay money for this... nobody got refunded. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 8 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? What's the verdict? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. I didn't pay money, but I still feel ripped off.

Super cute
It was a nice game. Confusing because they never tell you the goal of the game, so what you're supposed to be doing is never clear. Also, the endings come out of nowhere. I have no idea how to get any specificendings, and what led meand my friend to get the endings we did. I had a good time, and both the art and the writing are STELLAR, but it was quite confusing.
