Absolutely love this game <3 Get it, have fun wrecking random stuff, you won't regret it.
I actually like the game, had fun for a few hours on it.I mean, playing as a monster, slowly getting stronger and bigger until you destroy everything in your path? Sounds like an awesome Idea and fun time! Unfortunately,I can never get that far because for some odd reason, the game decides to crash on me EVERY SINGLE TIME I get to a high level like 70. A game about surviving and getting stronger the more you are alive, is heavily detrimented by the mere fact it crashes on you with no clear solution other than waiting for the dev team to do something. I really want to recommend this game, but it's crashes really doesn't even make it worth it being free. SOME CRITICISMS: The game is very repetitive in terms of the player merely walking until you hit a certain level, couldn't have added a little sprint or climbing feature? Feel like a game where you can have the fantasy of being a distructive monster should have more options than taking a stroll through the park until you get your abilities. Speaking of abilities, certain ones kinda feel janky and kind of underwhelming, specifically ones that have you smash the ground. Those abilities are obviously meant for crowd control or to get of a situation when being surrounded,so why don't they destroy things like vehicles and tanks? They don't have to destroy them from a long radius, but they should at the very least blow up when in near or on top of them. I also would love to see new maps, maybe something illustrated from each of the monsters backgrounds. Being in the same city over and over again just isn't fun unless you have hidden passages in the game that lead to other hidden areas. That's about it,I really hope by the time early access is done, they have fixed the crashing, that's the main issue here.Hell maybe it'd be a whole new experience later down the line, but unfortunately I can't recommend this right now.

### YOU ARE THE MONSTER — A Chaotic and Surprisingly Fun Monster Rampage **YOU ARE THE MONSTER** is a wonderfully chaotic game that lets you experience the city from the other side — **you’re the monster, and the city is your playground.** One of the most entertaining parts of the game is simply roaming around and seeing just how much destruction you can cause. With different monster types to play as, each creature brings its own abilities, strengths, and style of causing mayhem. Whether you prefer smashing through buildings, chasing down terrified civilians, or simply causing absolute chaos in the streets, there’s plenty of fun to be had. The destruction itself is incredibly satisfying. Watching a previously peaceful city quickly turn into a disaster zone as you rampage through it gives the game a fantastic sense of freedom. There’s something oddly entertaining about having **no responsibility to save the city — because you’re the reason it needs saving!** The variety of monsters also helps keep things interesting. Switching between different creatures changes how you approach the city and gives you a reason to experiment with different playstyles. If you enjoy games that let you **cause ridiculous amounts of destruction, embrace your inner monster, and simply have fun without taking yourself too seriously**, YOU ARE THE MONSTER is definitely worth checking out. **Overall:** A fun, chaotic monster experience with plenty of destruction, dark humour, and opportunities to turn an entire city into your personal playground. 🦖💥🏙️
Game's really fun with a few exceptions, sadly. I usually don't write reviews and this is just for the purpose of "maybe a dev will see this". The hard difficulty feels like I need to constantly hide from the swat guys or try to destroy them asap. The latter is a bit difficult to pull off due to the spawn logic in the game. I constantly have to check behind my back to see what exactly is pewpewing me currently. It is way to easy to die so early in a run during hard difficulty from basic enemies. It feels like only the Kraken has a way to deal with every threat effectively. Obviously not impossible to complete hardmode runs, but often it feels way too cheap to deal with. Especially the swat guys. Those are a bigger threat on hard mode than the tanks or the AoE explosions. I feel like some balancing changes should be in order. Mainly buffing the casting time of abilities for the slower monsters like Enlil and Mech. A crosshair would be a welcome addition as well. The spike ability of the biped monster (sorry, forgot the name) SHOULD seek out enemies instead of always just going to fixed directions, and maybe there should be an upgrade that adds a couple more instances of the spike attack. Some sort of basic evasion ability (that has a shorter cooldown that regular abilities) would benefit the game as well. Like I said, only the Kraken has a way to deal with being generally slow. I ended up using the Mech's machinegun ability to get out of dangerous situations, and the running attack of the biped to heal up, but it often wasn't enough. And like another reviewer already suggested, abilities should be unlocked way sooner, cuz you really just spend the first couple minutes just walking around. Abilities often lock you into place and there is no way to prematurely end them, results in me having to bait out the AoE-s before using them. Something should be changed with them to feel more fluid, instead of having to pray that I don't get clipped during that. Making every building destructible is also something I'd like to see, along with a way to jump or climb on top of buildings, Godzilla style. The map is kinda unbalanced as well, more than it should be. The beach has a specific region that has more spawns than any other area I've found. The park that is close by is a good contender, but it's often just luck if you will succeed or not, cuz it depends on how far you are from these farming spots. I left this review as positive, cuz I don't feel like I should judge too harshly a game in it's infancy. I hope the devs keep improving the game. Thanks for the experience and I'm looking forward for updates ! :)
saw the game on a stream and thought it looked cool. concept is there, but imagine playing a game you see in the background a movie but the only gameplay is the 2 minute max loop of gameplay you see in the background, thats this game. sure you can run around and eat people, break some things and "evolve" but its just to get to the same point of doing the same thing over and over again just with a slightly larger character model and no actual progression or end goal. at least with other games theres some sort of incentive to do repetative runs of the same exact scenario, but with this game there just isnt, its more or less the game you see in an ad for a mobile game except you have to pay for it. developer appears to have also more or less abanonded the game so i absolutely would not recommend picking it up unless an update comes out which seems doubutful at this point.
Awsome game. love being the monster. cant wait to see what the developers do with this one. you mindlesly destroy the city... easy welll its a walk in the park... normal alittle bit more risky you need to be some what carfull... hard...you strategicly use skills to survive ****i didnt had any crushes**** in the end...if you play endless mode the difficulty will rise on its own ive started on easy...got big big...caped my level and become a glass canon in the end lol...60+ minuts so yhea...you do look for collectables around the city...you have skins and mutations to grind for....in the end...i lvoe the game...its simple hard as you want it to be. and fun. ive played on max graphic settings but it didnt feel wow...but still awsome game.
This game has a lot of potential. Its rough around the edges but still a lot of fun. I've had a blast working up to huge monsters that can knock down buildings. I'm hoping the dev adds the ability to destroy the bigger buildings too and for the pedestrians and cops to make a little more sense with their movements and spawns.
fun as hell, 10 dollars, crashes constantly. if it didnt crash so much id give it 10/10 and it would have the following it deserves, watched a streamer play it and picked it up in the chat he responded with he didnt have crashing issues cuz his computer was better, my computer is a beast however if you can just push through the crashing the game is super good for 10 bucks
soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good
