A simple Japanese horror game, with horrible creatures, not very complex puzzles, and an unwelcoming atmosphere! Have sweet nightmares...
Small horror game developed by one person. For the price it's worth it, plus the Dev updates the game constantly and is open to feedback. Keep going Kanashi!
"Yakyosho - Terror and escape at school" is a badly made amateurish Unity kitbash with fake reviews and deplorably bad game assets, gameplay, and as close to zero quality as possible. If you try to play this clunky mess, it's a third person horror adventure game where you're a Japanese kid in school and there's ghosts and monsters that are apparently going to eat you, so you need to pick up this object and use it in this place, blah blah. There's zero polish here, it's janky, movement is like wading through molasses, and every single time you interact with something you get a dinky little progress bar on your screen... pretty sure the developer behind this never played a video game, just heard about them, then decided to make one. This game has been translated from some other language into English... badly. If this was done through Google Translate, Google Translate should feel ashamed of itself. Regardless, the language in this game is broken and will put off a lot of gamers. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The game assets are fairly mediocre/low quality, in some places they appear mismatched... Ultimately the quality of these assets, and thus the overall visual quality is lower than average, and low quality always makes for a less than optimal gaming experience. Remember, we're looking for the best of the best of 140,000+ games on Steam. One surefire way to tell that you're dealing with a lazy minimum viable product bit of junkware is if the developer didn't bother with a full set of customisation options like your resolution, control mapping, sound controls etc. Here, the developer didn't include any settings menu at all! If that doesn't make it clear what kind of lazy junk this is, I'm not sure what will. The upshot of this utter failure and laziness, there's locked resolution, locked controls... you can't do anything to properly customize the experience here. That's a complete failure. Because the controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. Arrogantly, the developers demand you should find a way to plug headphones into your gaming PC to experience the craptastic audio they shovelled into this terrible game. I run a 9.2 surround sound system for my gaming rig, I'm not interested in downgrading just because the developers demand I experience the game in a compromised manner. Developers must never dictate to gamers how a game should be consumed, it's their JOB to ensure a game is experienced well on any gaming rig. Failure to do this is a failure on their part, and not the gamers. Those technical issues put this game beneath what is expected from a contemporary, professionally developed PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 5 players, and the worst part is these weren't genuine players, these were the Russian fake review accounts that the developer paid to make the fake reviews. Since the fake reviews are all done, now the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 130 million gamers on Steam and well over 140,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected.
Warning: Review Manipulation! This game features a number of fake positive reviews from accounts known to be in the business of review manipulation/paid reviews. They're all written in either Russian, broken English or ChatGPT AI slop, appear at almost exactly the same time, very shortly after the game launched on Steam, all have a direct Steam purchase of the game, and the accounts are used consistently to write fake reviews for asset flips and other cash grabs/scams. The "Positive" review score on this game should be disregarded due to this blatant, unethical review manipulation. This is done to deceive and scam gamers into paying for a bad product. Due to the 2024 FTC ruling (16 CFR § 465.4, 15 U.S.C. § 45), these fake reviews are a violation of US Federal Law.
So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 140,000+ games on Steam? "Yakyosho - Terror and escape at school" is relatively cheap at $3 USD, but it's not worth it. There's enough defects and quality problems with this game that it's not worth recommending to gamers, but the unethical nature of the developer/their associates makes it completely impossible. This is also competing with over 14,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product. Finally, I write these reviews to try help people navigate the thousands of games on Steam so they don't waste time on low quality products. There's over 140,000 games on Steam... Steam Direct is allowing an influx of around 40-50 new games every day!. If you think I'm wrong about this one, go ahead and buy it, download it, install it, play it and see for yourself. Maybe you'll come to agree with me after spending your money. Either way, consider writing your own reviews too. I'm just glad if my review help give gamers enough info to make a better informed choice.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
Grafiklerde, oynanışta pek bir sorun göremedim. Özellikle Japon tarzı korku oyunları sevenler beğenebilir.
