Everything in this game has a strict purpose and works so incredibly well together, even when you consider the future titles. Not many studios are able to make a prequel that enhances older titles while outshining them completely. Yokoyama's writing really shines in this game especially compared to what he's doing with the series now. Managed to get all of the upgrades this go around, so combat was an absolute blast. My only real complaint is that the business minigame (if you can call it that, it's basically just a spreadsheet) takes way too long to finish, but the reward is certainly worth it, unlike cabaret where I had fun doing it for a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ reward.

One thing I've learnt from this game: DO NOT WEAR A VARSITY JACKET WHILST CROSSING A BRIDGE IN DOTONBORI, JAPAN. YOU WILL GET JUMPED.

This game plays like a tv drama series but with Japanese mafia, Japanese entertainment and lifestyle. It has everything that can be found in Tokyo and Osaka nightlife. So many mini games to entertain me for HOURS. They have mahjong, fishing, arcade games, bowling, baseball practice and mini racing cars, just to name a few. Best of all, it has lots of Japanese women from the AV industry. A spectacular game made by amazing programmers. Everything just works!! This is a 'must play' game not just for the mafia fights but also for the great story (especially Episode 14), all the mini games and all the beautiful, sexy women on display. A lot of positive lessons can be learn from this game. Worth every dollar! Rating: 100% (+70%)

I don't even know how to describe how crazy this game is. one minute i'm fighting a bunch of goons and a few minutes later i'm on a side quest to bring pizza to a random woman and ignoring the story for a few hours. also the soundtrack is a banger.
