Really fun, for anyone wanting to get started in the world of rally racing. It marked a period for me, around 2010.

Overall solid rally game for newcomers. Looks good, runs on low specs and is easy to pickup. The physics are a bit quirky : [list] [*] -if you're not putting gas while steering, the car barely steers at all. [*] -cars quickly lose speed when drifting. You can enter most turns at full speed and the friction from drifting will be enough to keep your car on track. [/list] The heavy drift friction cheaps away the feeling of speed. In other rally games like McRae or Richard Burns Rally, you drift like . Ironically, all tracks are very flat (beside offroad mode and rare bumps on the snow map) so these settings are good pretty much everywhere : [list] [*] -Suspension height : [b]low[/b] [*] -Suspension stiffness : [b]high[/b] [*] -Brake strenght : [b]very hard[/b] [*] -Steering : [b]very fast[/b] [*] -Gear ratio : [b]low speed[/b] [*] -Power transfer : [b]50-50[/b] [/list] --- Thanks to CPU imperfections, [b]You can gold the entirety of the career mode without a single upgrade, using only free cars[/b] (excepted starter car), with the same settings on every car, for every track.

This game is not for noobs. The driving physics are unusual, so the learning curve is steep. There are no assists. (there is a Sat Nav minimap upgrade that you have to buy for each car) One medium to large mistake, easy to make at high speed, means you have to restart an up to 6 min race. Once you do get the hang of it, the drifting is smooth and satisfying when excecuted right, braking is responsive even when unupgraded, and the sense of speed is sweet. A tiny 100bhp compact feels like a rocket. Though, driving/transitioning onto tarmac can be fairly awkward. Upgrading. The upgrading is pretty detailed and granular, it has held up to many modern titles. I personally really like it. The one individual thing that I don't like about it is that there are no engine swaps. Overall, the game is pretty good. There are much better and much worse games out there. For the price paid ($1.04USD for the bundle after tax) I do heavily recommend it. Like it? You got 2 enjoyable games for a dollar. Don't like it? It was only a dollar.
