Bref
game is ok enough but it ranges from totally busted to harmful on a technical level. if you play for too long a log file is generated that so far is 125mb within like an hour of playing. the level wall can be scaled quite easily when you find either a or the spot not sure if more than one exists, this completely screws the enemies when they spawn around you in the air while you freely descend or ascend at great speed. as a throwaway seasonal stocking stuffer type game, sure. there are better free games but then it wouldn't be a cheap thinking of you sort of seasonal gift to a friend or loved one. update the game, prove me wrong and i'll flip the review and say this is a good game with a good developer.
A bit slow to start, but grows on you quickly once you understand the mechanics. Tons of fun and not hard to survive. Still haven't gotten the die 10 times achievement and I've completed multiple runs as different characters. First few runs are tough, but expected in this type of game. Honestly tons of fun as is and glad to see more is going to be added. Worst case play a few rounds and refund it. Doubtful you will if you like these types of games. Definitely a fun one for the holidays by far.
IL DIVINO NATALE
it is what it is. nothing more and nothing less. one can't help but admire the purity of it all.
Xmas Apocalypse is a wild holiday ride 😊. This game's a festive mashup of survival and strategy, where you gotta navigate a post-apocalyptic Christmas world filled with zombies, monsters, and... presents? Sounds like a weirdly fun time. Pros: Unique Holiday Twist: The Christmas apocalypse vibe's pretty original _Fun Survival Mechanics**: You've gotta scavenge for gifts and fight off critters _Goofy Atmosphere**: The game's got some dark holiday humor Cons: _Graphics Are Basic**: The visuals are kinda simple _Might Be Too Weird**: The game's pretty bizarre, might not be for everyone _Short Length**: The game's kinda short, might not be worth it for some Rating: 6/10 for fans of weird holiday games 😊
Not recommended - it makes every aspect in its Vampire Survivors daddy worse and adds the need to mouse-aim at every single enemy individually, a process that is made extra painful (in addition to the arm pain you can get in minutes from playing it) by the performance issues and the jittery aiming that tends to skip around a lot. There are plenty of extra issues added because of the changes done to the Vampire Survivors formula and no significant improvements. The worsenings: 1. The need to aim manually 2. The need to fire manually 3. The inability to fire without aiming (what do you think it does to arm strain to have to constantly press down both mouse buttons and also hold the skipping aim steady, there is an annoying vertical veer of the aim because of the downward camera angle, and the character movement) 4. The inability to see what is behind your character (it is coupled by the extra restricted view when aiming and the fact that you cannot shoot without aiming) 5. The general lack of vision of the playfield 6. The gun shots having delayed hit registration (a delay of about a second) 7. The upgrades that mostly increase stats and do not make hitting enemies any less of a painful job 8. The scarcity of voice lines (they repeat constantly) 9. Enemies from behind bumrushing you and hitting you multiple times without invincibility frames 10. No way to play it with keyboard only. I got this game from a Fanatical Mystery Bundle. Caveat emptor.
Xmas Apocalypse definitely isn’t winning any awards, but it’s way more fun and addictive than it looks at first glance. I almost always have a smile on my face while playing. I went in expecting to mess around and make fun of it, kind of like when people watch bad movies on purpose, and at first that’s exactly what I did. But before long, the game hooked me and I was grinding for upgrades, trying to push my runs further and further. I was also taken back that the game isn't abandonware. The developer gyptnkt is still making new levels, weapons, and characters for this 3 year old game. Free of charge. If it’s the holiday season, I’d honestly pay full price for this. That said, it goes on sale a lot, which makes it an even better deal. I grabbed a key for $1.60, and for that price, it’s totally worth it. Side note : The game has some small text - but other than that, I experienced no performance issues on my LED Steam Deck.
A pretty basic Vampire Survivors clone in 3D. There isn't much too this game. But for what is essentially a meme game it's actually pretty fun. It's not going to replace your go to Vampire Survivors style game though
