The serpents were hot

I remember trying this game on a friend's PC when it first came out, and I didn't like it mainly because of the mission timers. So, did anything change? Nope, I still hate them. I got the game back in 2023 in an XCOM bundle, so I figured I would finally give it another try. To be fair, it’s a massive upgrade to the previous entry. Not everything is perfect, obviously (again, the TIMERS), but I liked the new content. Take сovert ops for example, my only gripe is, why can I only send one squad? I’m the leader of the entire organization, yet I literally have 10+ squadmates just sitting AFK in the bar the whole time doing absolutely nothing. On bright side. Game has Steam Workshop support, so you can easily customize the aspects you don't like (and completely delete the timers). If I really have to pinpoint actual downsides, the optimization is a bit iffy, especially if you stack multiple explosions in one spot to wipe out enemy from stealth. The other downside is that multiplayer was removed for Windows. I heard you can still play it without on Linux and Mac, but on Windows, you have to perform some beta-version downgrade mumbo-jumbo just to launch it (there is one achievement tied to it...).
