(played 200+ hours on official launcher in versions 2.4-2.6, recently came back for a little while in 3.6 only to find out there's a steam version)
I don't know how to really put my feelings of this game into words. it's like they wanted to make a better Genshin impact, but somehow failed in literally every aspect. it just feels... not soulless but... I just have such a hard time caring about it at all. before you say "omg GI and WUWA aren't even the same why are you comparing them?!?!" they are. they are literally the same game. they have the same base concepts. if you don't agree on this, you haven't played enough of Genshin. don't think I'm telling you to play Genshin, that game has it's whole myriad of issues i obviously won't get into.
Character animations? so incredibly fast and filled with effects that it feels super over the top, not in a good way.
Combat? either stupidly easy or stupidly hard, no in-between.
Building characters? weapons are the same as any other modern gacha. the "Artifact" (Relic, Disk Drive, etc.) system in this game is somehow worse than any other modern gacha. essentially instead of "farming" one "domain", you run around the world finding specific spawn points for the enemy you need, then kill said enemy, hope it drops the 5 star version of itself (cause it's not even guaranteed, lol) with all the correct mainstat and substats. what's that? the enemy only has 4 spawnpoints? oh well, only 4 tries per day then. idk who thought this was a fun or good idea, but it SUCKS.
Characters? decent designs I guess. only one character (Galbrena) stands out to me. besides her, you could tell me that any other character is not from WUWA and I would believe you.
Voice acting? probably the worst thing about this game in my opinion. I've HAD to play with voices turned OFF because of how bad the English VA's are. it's not that they don't fit the character's personality, or that they just didn't sound how I imagined they would. they are just objectively badly voiced. it's hard to NOT imagine the voice actors sitting in front of a mic reading out their combat lines or reading off the script, that's how bad it is.
Story? meet girl, learn tragic backstory, help her fight or something, then never see her again.
Performance? quite terrible, not surprising really since they just keep making things look "better" without caring about performance.
however, the game is free. so really, just give it a try. If you end up going full schizoid delusion mode and somehow convince yourself the game is an absolute perfect flawless masterpiece that blows every other gacha (or non gacha) game out of the water? then good for you. however, [h2] DO NOT SPEND MONEY ON THIS GAME. [/h2] these devs don't deserve to make money off a game with all these issues. if you spend money on this. you are telling the devs and even other studios that all these issues are fine to be in a game, because it's "free". it's not okay, none of these issues should ever have existed, even if they eventually get fixed. somehow they make so much money yet all they do is make the game worse with every update.
