I came for a game, For worlds to explore, For characters, stories, And maybe a little bit more. But somewhere along the way, The game became a store, With a pretty little character Standing behind a locked door. They call it chance. They call it fun. They call it choice, When the spending’s begun. A currency here, A banner there, A limited character That won’t always be there. And the industry watches As the lonely ones spend, Chasing affection They can never quite send. A digital smile, A voice, a design— Just enough attachment To make spending feel fine. And I’m tired. Tired of being baited, Tired of being sold, Tired of watching good games Turn greed into gold. Gachas feel like a plague That gaming embraced, Where monetizing loneliness Is treated as taste.

Vim para esse jogo por causa da collab com o Cyberpunk 2077 e fiquei por todo resto que encontrei. Ótima historia, bons personagens, combate divertido e cenários maravilhosos.
GREAT GAME. AWFUL MONETIZATION. F2P PLAYERS DESERVE BETTER.
Wuthering Waves is a genuinely good game buried under a monetization system I simply cannot support. And instead of just saying “gacha bad”, let's look at the actual numbers.
THE F2P REALITY
A normal F2P player receives only 60 Astrite per day from Daily Activity. One pull costs 160 Astrite. That means an entire day of dailies gives you only: 0.375 pulls.

1 pull = about 2.7 DAYS of dailies
10 pulls = about 27 DAYS of dailies
80 pulls = about 213 DAYS of dailies
And here's the important part: 80 pulls does NOT even guarantee the limited character you actually want. The Featured Resonator banner has an 80-pull hard pity, but your first 5-star has only a 50% chance of being the featured character. Lose the 50/50? You may need another 80 pulls.
160 PULLS = 25,600 ASTRITE
At 60 Astrite per day, that represents roughly:
426 DAYS OF DAILY ASTRITE
For ONE guaranteed limited character.
WANT THEIR SIGNATURE WEAPON TOO?
The limited weapon banner can require another: 80 pulls = 12,800 Astrite So in the worst case: Character: 160 pulls Weapon: 80 pulls
240 PULLS = 38,400 ASTRITE
That's the equivalent of: 640 DAYS OF DAILY ASTRITE. Yes. 640 days.
"BUT THE GAME GIVES YOU MORE ASTRITE!"
Yes, it does. You also receive Astrite from:

Events
Story
Exploration
Chests
Achievements
Endgame activities
Patch rewards
But there is one massive difference: Most exploration, story, chest and achievement rewards are ONE-TIME rewards. Once you have completed them, they are gone. You cannot endlessly farm Astrite just because you are willing to play more. Your normal repeatable daily income still remains extremely limited. For Version 3.6, F2P calculations put the total rewards at roughly: 11,800 Astrite + 12 limited character pulls if you complete essentially everything available during the patch. That's roughly:
85 LIMITED CHARACTER PULLS
during an entire six-week patch. Now remember: Worst-case guarantee for ONE featured character = 160 pulls. So even completing practically an entire patch worth of F2P content does not necessarily guarantee the limited character being advertised to you.
AND IT GETS WORSE FOR NEW PLAYERS
Some of those Astrite rewards come from difficult endgame activities. Version 3.6 has roughly 2,800 Astrite tied to endgame content. Meaning a newer F2P player may not even be capable of earning the full theoretical F2P amount. So when people say: "You get around X amount of pulls every patch!" remember that those calculations often assume you:

Log in consistently
Complete the events
Complete the new content
Explore
Do the endgame
Claim all temporary rewards
Miss content? Those pulls are gone.
NOW LET'S TALK ABOUT DUPLICATES
Characters don't simply end after obtaining them once. Each character has six additional Sequence Nodes. To fully max out a limited character, you generally need to obtain that character:
SEVEN TIMES.
One original copy + six additional copies. And then, of course, there is still their separate signature weapon. So the monetization doesn't stop at: "Congratulations! You got the character." There are additional character copies and weapons waiting behind even more banners.
THIS IS THE PART I REFUSE TO SUPPORT
I have absolutely nothing against developers making money. Wuthering Waves is free. Servers cost money. Developers deserve salaries. Artists, programmers, animators, composers and voice actors deserve to be paid. That is not the problem. Sell me:

Skins
Cosmetics
Mounts
Battle passes
Expansions
A subscription
A complete character for a reasonable fixed price
I will happily pay for a game I enjoy. What I do NOT want to support is a system built around:

Premium currency
Limited-time banners
50/50 mechanics
Pity systems
Character duplicates
Signature weapons
Fear of missing out
Constantly rotating characters
All conveniently designed around making spending money extremely easy.
A game being free does not automatically make every monetization system reasonable.

60 ASTRITE VS. 160 ASTRITE
This single comparison tells you a lot. Daily reward: 60 Astrite One pull: 160 Astrite You don't even receive enough premium currency from an entire day's standard daily activity to make: ONE pull. Not ten pulls. Not a guaranteed character. One pull. And one pull doesn't guarantee anything meaningful.
"BUT WUWA IS MORE GENEROUS THAN OTHER GACHAS!"
Maybe. But this argument completely misses the point.
“Better than another gacha” does NOT automatically mean consumer-friendly.
If one game charges you $1,000 for something and another charges you $700, the second system does not magically become good simply because something worse exists. The comparison should not be: "Is this gacha nicer than another gacha?" The comparison should be: "Does this game respect my time and my money?"
THE SAD PART? THE GAME ITSELF IS REALLY GOOD.
The combat is excellent. The animations are beautiful. The world looks fantastic. The characters clearly have a lot of work put into them. There are obviously incredibly talented developers behind this game. And that's exactly why the monetization disappoints me so much. A genuinely great game should not need psychological monetization systems designed around limited availability, random outcomes and repeated copies of characters.
I DON'T HATE WUTHERING WAVES.
I actually WANT games like this to succeed. But I don't want this monetization model to become something we simply accept as normal. There is a massive difference between: "I want to support a game I love." and "I feel pressured to spend because the character I want disappears soon and I might lose a 50/50."
PLEASE THINK BEFORE YOU SPEND.
If you enjoy Wuthering Waves completely F2P: Good. Enjoy it. If you buy a small monthly pass because you enjoy the game: That's your choice. If you spend money on characters because you understand the system and can comfortably afford it: That's also your choice. But please understand what these systems are built around before spending hundreds or even thousands. Don't let FOMO decide how much your entertainment is worth.

GOOD GAMES DESERVE SUPPORT. PREDATORY MONETIZATION DOES NOT.

Your money is your vote. And this is one monetization model I personally refuse to vote for.

I hate the Gacha system and how the characters you unlock and play as don't integrate into the story, feels like a sandbox. but I knew that wasn't for me so I gave it the benefit of the doubt and ignored that part of it. Story is cringe, you are the chosen one but fight the same as most characters and the only reason Rover is special power-wise is because of another cringe character yet every other character glazes you anyway. this was made for a specific type of audience that like to feel validated. you have zero input and it plays like a kinetic novel with the illusion of choice, even some exiles which are bandits aren't fightable, you have to be nice to them. Rover is so shallow character depth wise, makes no difference if you play male or female you're only the observer that will be swapped out for a better one for gameplay. I also dislike the Sci-fi elements where it's just a stand in for magic. How are you healed by nexuses? are you an android? why can't I duplicate or download echoes if it's just data? and elf looking characters are just mutated resonators, they're doing gymnastics to achieve what you'd get if you just stuck with magic fantasy instead. Characters are pure eye candy and the ones you can unlock through Gacha make no sense being in your party like I mentioned before. Like why is Sanhua or Baizhi, who I think are guaranteed, helping you out? they have jobs to do. Companion Quests don't explain why they're with you, just their story. Male resonators are some of the best I've seen of anime games like Luuk, Brant, Jiyan or Qiuyan but they are outnumbered by triple the amount of women. It's such a waste of good design to be used in this world setting. They even do a fake ranking thing where characters are either 4 stars or 5 stars. Progression is terrible I despise it, it's the sole reason I dropped this game. Killing enemies grants miniscule exp though I managed to level rover to 10 before caving in and doing it the intended way. Which is just pumping the resonator with exp potions like a Junkie. I would've avoided it entirely if it wasn't for the disgusting scaling mechanic: SOL3 Phase ranks where enemies all scale up by 20 levels every 10 Union levels. Fighting enemies while underleveled is completely fine with me, did it for games like Witcher and souls games. The problem is with timed quests like the ascension quests you need to rank up or tower quests. ALL I wanted to do was reach level 8 Data Bank level so I can tidy my echoes without wasting them. but it's locked behind SOL3 rank 3 where I had to beat the ascension quest (level 40 enemies) within the time limit and it's impossible unless I'm level 30 atleast. but I can't do that unless I do resonator ascension which is locked behind a quest reward item for Rover. It's lock after lock. I already had the item but I loathe the fact that I'm essentially quest/item locked for level (I got it from sonance casket delivery). I already hated the fact that you needed the potion items to gain exp but atleast with that there was an alternative (killing enemies). Enemies and Echoes: Tacet Discord designs from all I've seen are really ugly and oversaturated. i get that they're meant to be distortions but they are ugly in a different way, like they're overly decorated and clay-like similar to code vein. Exiles are good and Bosses are even better. Echoes system is very well done and I'm glad you aren't forced to use them but there's very few that are actually fun to use as main: Cruisewing and Rocksteady Guardian. Everything else is just extra damage. I don't like the naming (H-11 / R-41) I never got the pattern, should've had pokedex numbers, this game is extremely messy and echoes sorting drove me to delete it I couldn't understand why variants were seperated, besides level cap it isn't clear that have higher base stats. Sonata effects do not matter. Combat is the best part of the game but is offset by levelling mechanics and spongey enemies. TDs still living after fighting a resonator that leaves 30 sword trails in a second is just frustrating. Would be better if that flashiness was earned and realistic. Gear hardly matters and that's a good thing, I can stick with starting training weapons. Dodging is good, it's similar to Nier Automata's but has a large window to avoid an attack, I hate that stamina is levelled by Data Bank instead of independent resonator level. Parries are stupid, you can and will trigger them accidentally, it's too easy to achieve should've been a different input. That's why I prefer parrying with Rocksteady Guardian or Diamondclaw. But when you get hovershooter you can just stand there like some moron and drill through HP of overworld enemies like nothing (as long as they don't glitch out and respawn healed) and you'll get the same benefits. Loot is far messier than echoes, there's so much junk and absolutely no way to sell it off. You cant sell ANYTHING. weapons can be fed to other ones to make them stronger and you can turn herbs into healing items but you're taking those 48 green pit lizards to the grave along with anything else you have no use for. As someone who loves inventory management this is infuriating, discarding items is a waste so its more useful to hold on to it but man I'd rather have it condensed to shell credits. But even worse than that is the reward system that mimics MMOs I think, did you wipe your ass today? here's a key to the city. Maybe you have to be a gambling addict to think constant rewards is fun but I'm getting trash I wont use like sealed exp tubes without even trying. And Wood, where does it even go? I only open chests for exploration progress The map is huge and the different regions are unique, the visual difference between biomes is sometimes too stark and needs smooth transitions into it, like lights instantly turning off after crossing a section. Puzzles are easy but kinda fun, I initially thought it made use of different characters exclusive abilities when it says you "need a levitator", thought maybe a rectifier user and those puzzles and bobflies that requires a ranged attacker. Turns out you can do it through terminal for any character with the hovershooter and levitator tool. Would be nice if Rectifiers could levitate and both tools needed recharging/ammo just to make party versatility enjoyable Overall aesthetics and sounds are decent. there's nothing that would blow you away, boss arenas are the ones with the best set design. Music was okay. As always English Voice is unbearable, they always do the same annoying voice thing, watch any non-anime media (like breaking bad) with "if it was english dub" to see what I'm talking about. Native Mandarin is good so is Japanese but Korean and English didn't do it for me. I don't like the blend of rural style ancient buildings with the bland metal Sci-Fi architecture Other stupid features like Wavesline for the parasocial or podcasts which isn't really a podcast just daily quests with login commitment rewards and VIP benefits for the paying customer. 3/10 unless you watch p*rn for the plot

Why are you forcing players to sit through the whole MAIN QUEST without SKIP button in some places. It is so annoying. This is not GI. This quest was the worst in pacing, the SLOWWWWWW WALKKKKKKKKKK i wanted to throw my PC. IF the next patch also has this issue i will uninstall this game. Really dissapointed in KURO. Give players the choice to skip or not, do not force it
The shiniest of gacha games. It pulled me to actually play one and I played it for sure. I came in with the understanding yeah it is gacha game and I know that but it is the "best" one. I am now here at almost 400 hundred hours realizing that I was riding a wave the was only two feet tall. I want to say I love the good things about this and sure there are great things that came out of it but I mean there better be great things if this game makes millions. I am just thinking about the future. I am feeling like this patch is the true example of it. Like what is there to do in 3.6 if you have been keeping up? Nothing...I am just logging in to the game to get the premium currency for the next character. Then when I get that character I am bored of it in minutes and wanting the next one. All the 1.0 units are so far gone both in power creep and availably. (How can I get any of the 1.0 characters at this point or any of the 2.0?) Like I get reruns but man I am saving those resources for the new ones.....oh its money...it spending a ♥♥♥♥ ton of money. There it is, the shiniest gacha game is still a gacha. Shallow, repetitive , but flashy for a reason; money. Look play this game at your own risk. It excels in so many areas but other games to do too and they don't lock 30% of the content behind a 2000% paywall. Honestly, mainly the 50/50 kills it for me. Like I am cool with grinding the resources and spending the time. I am not okay with doing that and failing a 50/50 to not get anything but anger that all the standard banners characters are so useless in story and gameplay. I'll probably check in now and again but there are other games like this one that don't do all the gacha mess and there are other games on the horizon that are well more worth my time. It has been good Wuwa but not that good. Hopefully one day when you EOS all your content is available and I can replay the story. I would love to go back to 2.0 story.
