Wren's Resurgence

The game looks fun, but it has a lot of bugs. I've tried to play it 3 times and the first time the character stays stuck and doesn't move until I uninstall the game and in the last 2 attempts the screen suddenly goes black. Gameplay: https://youtu.be/gHfzQ2wHPqg

Video Review: https://youtu.be/oJTKW-wx5Eo I really wanted to like this game because I've been following it for a while but unfortunately I just didn't find it's game play fun. I liked the story from what I saw of it, the visuals and music are both good and appropriate for the setting. And although a patch fixed a huge issue I had with how the save system functioned I still didn't get much further the 2nd time I tried it than I did the first time. The parry system just feels off, I don't know how to describe it but it's clunky. The dodge roll also feels weird, so the defensive aspect of this game is lacking. Attacking an enemy while you're in mid-air bounces you off like they're made of rubber which I don't understand why that happens but it's annoying. The first boss in the game gives you a save point prior to the fight but it DOES NOT refill your health like every other game in existence and you have no way to fill your health otherwise. This is a game that with improvements could be fun, but in it's day one state I do not recommend it.

I played this for about an hour and had a hard time enjoying myself. The combat and movement felt way off, the music loop is boring and the enemy variety is lacking. I was going to try to finish it, but the game crashed on me multiple times leaving me unable to play it. I hope the release build fixes that issue. I appreciate the devs sending me a key for this but based on what I played, I cannot recommend this game. To the devs. I have a few suggestions: - Smoother dodge roll - Better impact when hitting enemies and fix the hit boxes. Alot of times my sword would go through enemies and would not hit. - Vary up and add more enemies in levels. Alot of them only have two or three and it gets boring. - When I would die, Wren would still be standing and attack animations would play out. - The overall UI could be more stylized. - Improve lighting in Sewer level - More opportunities to use currency at the shop

Ta gra to jakieś totalnie nieporozumienie. - ładowanie pomiędzy poziomami jest kosmicznie wolne - można przebiec i przeskoczyć przez wszystkich przeciwników bez walki - bossowie są opcjonalni - lecimy dalej i nie trzeba z nimi walczyć - sterowanie to jakaś porażka - totalnie nieintuicyjne Grafika i muzyka się bronią, ale to nie jest gra warta 68zł, raczej 8zł i to z tego 8zł powinna być brana cena bazowa do zniżek. Za taką cenę jakość gry to 2/10...

Having seen the trailer for Wren's Resurgence I was very much looking forward to playing it. During my short time of doing so I came up with some pros and cons about it: Pros: Absolutely GORGEOUS pixel art Wonderful soundtrack Very open, not completely restricted where to go Cons: Unable to do key mapping for controller (or see the default mapping) which lead to being unable to perform a dodge action Jumping was in consistent, sometimes would only jump a very small amount despite holding the button down Combat didn't feel like it flowed particularly I am not stating these cons to be negative about the game, in fact I feel like it has a lot of potential. Sadly I think it just needs a bit more time cooking to iron out some of the issues I stated above. If this can be achieved I feel like Wren's Resurgence could be an excellent addition to the action platformer genre. I definitely plan to keep my eyes on further development of the game and I am very open to giving it another try further down the line.

Com gráficos pixelart e belas músicas, esse jogo me fez ter lembranças dos antigos jogos de Super Nintendo, eu gostei dos gráficos e da jogabilidade do jogo, só ficou devendo ter tradução para Português.

este jogo ate tem uma ideia legal mas não consegue prender o jogador, ele é bem mal otimizado e a gameplay não é muito boa, não recomendo

The story lacks character dialogue boxes and content. Climbing walls requires holding down Ctrl for ages to figure it out. The map is too large; it's impossible to know what to do. Buying masks from monsters is pointless. After defeating two bosses, no other bosses appear in the later levels.
