Reviews
Lovely, characterful and expressive graphics combined with fun upgrade paths makes World's Greatest Author worth a bit of your time. It really makes you feel like someone who might one day think about writing a book.
I love the artstyle and the creative spin on incremental games.
Absolutely loved this game! I love the art style, it really drew me in. The game reminded me of Digseum, which is one of my favourites in this genre (I think I loved this one even more!) It's incredibly fun and relaxing and very addictive. The developer has been really receptive to feedback, which is always great to see. 100% recommend if you enjoy incremental/clicker games.

Really fun incremental game. Art is super charming and the game is a lot of fun, highly recommend
A pretty solid incremental game with a VERY interesting artstyle. Took a bit to 100% it (but i really wanted to) but worth the play!
Digseum, but prettier and pricier
Having 3 times the cost of the game it copies from and its mostly the same, but with some improvements.

Digseum's gameplay loop was so nice that plenty of copycats emerged on steam. It's progression was mostly based on prestige currency, and when you got upgrades to improve it's gains, game was basically over and finished in ~1-1.5 hours. This game took notes on that and you reach these upgrades way later, so some people might think that this game overstays its welcome with its prestige-heavy start, but it gets fine mid-game. Main difference between this and digseum is: your keyboard can open tiles, not just mouse clicks. This allows for spamming to clear boards faster, which is an improvement. Game's slightly buggy after end-game (crashes/lags), but main progression is alright. I had more complaints to say on release, but dev fixed up the late-game pacing after multiple complaints (as usual. Im getting sick of having to fill out discussion boards for free xd).

For x3 price tag of the original, you might consider something else, or this to have a big discount. If you loved digseum and want more - buy this on sale. Otherwise buy the one that started it all, its pretty good (but short).
Хорошая игра для своего жанра.
Great game, obviously a labour of love and deserves more attention.
i hired ghost writers to create several billion dollar new religions a second! Fun, short, great ramp up. there was a lot of clicking, might be a good case for autoclicker
The first thing that grabbed my attention was the art style -- it somewhat resembles "Thank Goodness You're Here!" which I found a lot of fun. There's a quirky simplicity to the backgrounds and characters. There are little details here and there, like the art on the back wall, that are worth your attention. The gameplay is pretty simple, mirroring other games I've played. Mash keys on a typewriter until they break; when they do, the letter(s) you broke are added to the text on the page. It's often nonsensical but you can deliberately break keys in order to spell things. Whenever you finish a row of letters you make progress on the book's completion. When the progress reaches 100%, that book goes on the sale shelf and you start a new one. If you unearth a Plot Device, it adds to the book's sale value. Find all the Plot Devices on one keyboard, and it pauses until you click a "continue" link on the side to get a new keyboard. (This last part can eventually be automated.) You also have the option of mashing actual keys on your keyboard, if you want to feel like a real hack writer who's just churning out books. It also allows you to just hold down the right mouse button to speed-click on keys without having to wear down your pointer finger. But the game IS an incremental, which means it has a "prestige" reset system. Going on a "retreat" lets you spend Inspiration (something you can find during play) to give you starting boosts, speed up gameplay, and even automate parts of it. So the game starts a bit slow but will quickly pick up. It's charming. The Plot Devices are sometimes a bit on the nose (like the "Cool Scar" in the Young Adult category). There are achievements for selling more books than a certain author or franchise. I haven't yet gotten 100% on it, but I don't tend to fixate on that.
