The game itself is amazing with some good events and some bad. Or even some pretty mixed events like the holiday convoy. My issue is that these events where all you have to do is start a game to make progress is kind of an awful design. This enforces gameplay where your team will do one of two things. either mash the W key like their life depends on it in order to start up another match sooner or just go completely afk the entire game. I find that some ships in the event are either too cheap or too expensive. Not every player should get Bismarck '41 because they were capable of ruining 5 games a day for their team and there are honest players that are unable to get the main prizes of the event because it means spending money or being a player since the cretaceous period. The other issue i have is the tier system. A tier 7 should not be able to match with a tier 9 and so on. Or the fact that the large portion of the player base genuinely has no idea of how to play the game. Part of my blame for this is WG for handing out free tier 9 ships around Christmas.

Love the game. If you're like me and starting to get old and notice your fps skills are starting to diminish, this is a great game for skill-based PvP. At first glance it may seem pretty basic, but once you get into it its all actually quite complex. Your personal skill can carry you far, but on the other hand sometimes the matchmaker just sets you up to either get blown out or blow out the other team. The game isn't pay to win. Some of the tech tree (free) ships are the best ships in the game. You can absolutely spend alot of money here chasing premium ships, and while some may be worth it don't do as I did and chase every ship because of fomo...they just become port queens. The company can be greedy, and the premiums are super overpriced, but every once in a while they give free ships or have events for free ships like at the time of this review. The learning curve is quite steep, but if you're willing to learn and improve there is alot of fun to be had.
