♥♥♥♥ this game
Got burned out of 30 bucks on a ship i dont like due to lack of test drives. Support says you cant refund a ship even after one (1) battle. Terms for refunds might as well say a big fat NO REFUNDS EVER the way theyre so anti-consumer. How is that even allowed is beyond me
SO... IS IT WORTH PLAYING?
For me? Not anymore. And that is frustrating, because the actual naval combat can still be really good. But the combination of: - aggressive monetization - constant FOMO - questionable matchmaking - power creep - controversial submarines and carriers - endless premium offers and currencies eventually outweighed the fun for me. If you are curious, the game is free, so you can obviously try it for yourself. But I would strongly recommend: DO NOT SPEND MONEY EARLY. Play the Tech Tree. Learn the game. See how the matchmaking feels. See how you feel about the grind, submarines, carriers and the economy. And only then decide whether this is something you actually want to support financially. Because underneath all of these problems... there is still a good naval game here. And that is exactly what makes it so disappointing. I don't dislike World of Warships because the core game is terrible. I dislike it because I think the core game deserves much better than the direction surrounding it.
GREAT SHIPS. GREAT COMBAT. BAD DIRECTION. NOT RECOMMENDED.
early game is full of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ships that control bad and the combat is cool at first but a joke. the UI is atrocious. chat spam pop ups from groups and clans. R&D window for making new ships can seemingly wig out and make you unlock the wrong ship wasting Cringe Xp you have to grind for the exact ship in the chain of its class which is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ STUPID idea clearly trying to make me spend real money to skip since its just that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying/
