If you get it from sale it's an good ARPG to try out, but it just fails to captivate me enough. At times you really get the feeling the developer wanted to produce the exact same experience as Diablo 4 offers. For example the dungeon system is almost identical. I don't think the story in this is very good, but it also might be because the game doesn't do very well in explaining anything.
I picked the sorcerer and I've no clue about my skill tree, there is no place in game that would explain the ailments and my skill tree is full of them so.. I unlocked a bunch of "spells" or something into my hotbar but those are for ranged weapons (not for staves) or swords, and now my hotbar is full of spells I can't even use. Nowhere the game tells me how to adjust it.
There doesn't seem to be any kind of loot filters, and the loot rarity or even the name tags, is only visible on the ground when you hover the mouse over it. You have an pet that collects money from the ground for you, but I couldn't find any other meaning for it. It doesn't participate in combat and you can't send it to town to sell items, like in Torchlight.
The UI doesn't tell you in any way do you have the pet with you or not, not even from the menu you adjust it. If you click the pet icon it'll spawn the pet, but the icon color doesn't change, there isn't any "tick mark" or an "x" on the icon, nothing. That is very lazy designing.
Minimap cannot be adjusted it any way. Just "open", and it'll open on the screen in opaque, or "close" which then shows an 10m radius of you. The big map is only there to show the fast travel locations on the world.
The game saves pretty often but you can't do an manual save, and if you exit from the game it'll spawn you back to the nearest town. NOT to the nearest fast travel place.
I paid 3€ for the game and for that it isn't bad, but it really screams "unfinished" quite loudly. It is a bit concerning to know the developer is working on a sequel, while they never bothered to finish the first one. But who knows, maybe the Wolcen 2 is actually an good game. Only time will tell.
