OUI OUI OUI !
Would be a reccomendation by it's themes and aesthetic alone (who doesn't want to become a badass priest sent by the pope himselft to hunt witches?), but also by its gamefeel alone(with the exception of the "damages also tear up your stamina") it features some of the best gunplay and sound design ever put to the medium, especially love the sounds near the sunken ship. The destiny comparisons are not too far with this one, it has a great gamefeel with no microtransactions and no bs, quickly becoming one of my favorite games, in no small part due to it's stellar optimization. 10/10 Must play even at full price.
TL;DR: Lot’s of potential with fantastic atmosphere, lore and gun-play, but bogged down by frustrating grind, extreme difficulty spikes, and repetitive map reuse. Pros: • Graphics & Art Direction: Absolutely stunning visuals with fantastic, atmospheric environments and rich, grim lore. • Audio & Atmosphere: The sound design is top-notch and builds incredible immersion. • Tight Controls & Gunplay: The core movement and Shooting feel responsive, fluid, and satisfying right out of the gate. • Works great on linux via Proton Cons: • Brutal & Unforgiving Scaling: The difficulty ramps up ridiculously fast. Instead of feeling like a rewarding challenge, it feels like artificial difficulty designed to pad out the runtime. • Repetitive Grind: Replaying the same handful of levels over and over gets old very quickly. • Bullet-Sponge Enemies: Several enemy types absorb way too much damage, draining the pace and fun out of combat encounters. • Slow Progression: You rarely feel like you’re actually getting on top of things or making meaningful power gains. Conclusion: Witchfire has all the raw ingredients of a great shooter. It looks beautiful, sounds incredible, and controls smoothly. However, the current delivery lets it down. The experience quickly devolves into a frustrating, repetitive grind where progress feels punishing rather than rewarding. It desperately needs a rebalance before I can recommend it.
Jogando infinitas horas, o preço do jogo tende a zero.

It's totally not like dark souls. But it is still the Dark Souls of first person shooter. It doesn't have much mechanics from a soul. But it really is that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard and punishing game that feels unsumountable at first but with experience, knowledge and sheer perserverance, you power through and eventually stuff that seems impossible is now easy. Very high skill ceilling weapons with really neat mechanics that are unique to this game.
The game is fun without a doubt, the mixture of gun, magic, and even some melee is really cool and I would say they pulled that aspect off. The format of how the maps are repetitive but still have a certain feel of progression that grows with your characters stats, weapons, and gear is actually pretty fun and works. But the negatives are well... kind of spoiling the fun... so at this point in my progress with the game and its stage in development it's really hard to say that it is recommended. My negative of the game is along the same vein as a lot of other negatives reviews, in that there's a difference between a game being designed to be challenging in a fun way and one that's designed in a way that just feels like griefing and unfairness. And the best way I can elaborate on how this game feels that way is like taking the combat/survivability of a souls game and mix it with the map/mob design of a hack and slash, except there's no out of combat health regen, only 3 health pots(maybe 1 more if you are lucky on drops), no spamming aoe, an ammo resource, and on death you lose everything and the map resets, then as the difficulty ramps there comes other variables to watch out for. You are also kind of forced to increase difficulty if you want to do the actual map activities, so it's either be bored in tutorial grinding or increase difficulty. One other personal expectation that is a little disappointing is that the magic aspect of the game doesn't really play a big role in the combat as they function like Ult's where it requires build up to enable them, yes I know... "souls-like", but it makes the magic thematic feel limited and not an integral part of the combat which is a shame since I think a more rotational style could help with some of the issues with the mobs/difficulty and it would be just plain fun. I'm still rooting for the game and hope I get to change this to a positive review later, but overall the game leaves a feeling that you just want some freedom in restrictions, resource starvation, and mob swarming so you could actually enjoy the fun combat and tactically explore and progress in maps for new discoveries and different situations.
