+ highly addictive game loop, a lot of well designed takes on familiar mechanics, satisfying gunplay, immersive atmosphere. - i wish magic was designed/tuned so it's less restrictive in the beginning (too long cooldowns vs fun/value). The arcana table could be even more ambitious in total it's a really well made game. should be fantastic when it's fully released
that witch do be fire
Gunplay alone makes this game worth a purchase - I can't quite explain why but it reminds of what I used to love about Destiny, the gun's just feel good to use (the one's I've tried so far anyway), and adding spells into the mix makes me feel like a warlock. I'm really excited to see what this game is like at full release. So far it's fun and challenging in all the right way. The art style is pretty great, although I'm not the biggest fan of the Preyer and Mesel's designs, they're ugly in an off-putting way. The four maps I've played so far are unique and I haven't gotten bored of exploring them yet, the different events and quirks of each map makes them distinct; although I'd like a bit more variation colour-wise, I know this is a grim world but everything is a bit too drab for me personally and I'd like to see some of the environments feel more visually distinct and interesting to look at. The story very much takes a backseat, but the general framing of the Preyer hunting the Witch is more than enough of a drive for this kind of game, and the bits of religious lore sprinkled in help to build the atmosphere of the world quite well in my opinion. I wouldn't want to be stuck watching cutscenes or sitting through dialogue when all I really want is to jump back into another run and try out some new manifestation, gun, and spell combos. I absolutely hate grinding these days, it's what put me off Destiny in the end, but with how the runs work and progression feeling consistent, I haven't felt like I've wasted my time at all in the past ten hours (a couple of bugs that killed a run aside). Overall, very much recommend this game, even in early access it feels very good to play, with a bit more polish and some minor tweaks I genuinely think this could be a masterpiece.

If you are like me, playing on the Rog Ally Z1E, turn off Fluid Motion Frames. It hinders its performance quite a bit. Aside from that, 12/10. Best Early Access game available. No competition.
amazing gunplay great animations beautiful level design and atmosphere in all a amazing game! i highly recommend this for lovers of doom and 40k
Так то игра не сложная как понимаешь что к чему.
This game surprised me because one i do not usually like FPS games im more of a 3rd person action game dude, but this one is really fun. Its got enough aim assist in it to make you feel like you still have to land your shots, but also to where you feel like your not missing all the time. its just fun to play, accuracy is important because hitting a critical weak spot like heads or glowing orbs or whatever will give you much more damage. Ive found the bolt action rifles to be really good, and a weapon at level 0 might be awful, but once max level that awful weapon can literally clear entire rooms without needing to reload. So this game just feels awesome to me and has alot of replayability. its the game i fall into when i get stuck scrolling through my steam library wondering what to play.
First off, I have to commend the devs with how they've been able to get the game to look. Is this one of a handful of games that has pushed Unreal Engine 4 to its limits? It sure does looks beautiful. You could take a screenshot anywhere in this game and it would look awesome. I believe this is one of the last engines, where 'hand-crafted' art direction could still shine through, and the whole team responsible for graphics did a top notch job here! The story and theme is also very interesting. You play as an "unrepentant sinner" whose sole mission is to rid this world of 'pure evil' spirits. You have been guided to carry out this mission by the powers who be. The character you play as is something akin to an anti-villain. So basically it's a very gnarly world. Loads of biblical and spiritual imagery/ dialogue. It's inspired work. I liked it very much. The major problem with this game, is it's gameplay. Taking inspiration from 2014+ gaming culture with the likes of Destiny, the game has you grinding again and again to unlock this or unlock that, and to eventually progress to the next level. Numbers popping up on the screen when you shoot an enemy, 'roguelite-esque' unlocks pop up every time you defeat a mini horde, and just the overall grindy gameplay loop, is just manipulative. I can just feel myself being sucked in, and being forced to dump hours upon hours, when the gameplay is just not that fun. That's what I mean by manipulative. You sort of get addicted to the game without realising. And no, its not a good thing. What happened to that time when people were fine with progressing to the next level in a linear-driven story game, or playing a game that didn't act as if it was a second job? The gaming culture of 20 years ago had a big emphasis on one thing: FUN. Grinding in a game is not fun. The gaming industry is a nasty and manipulative industry now.
