Out of the hundreds of games ive played so far, white knuckle wins in every domain, with a polished balancing system, an intuitive ui and smooth gameplay gameplay. If you are a fan of stressful roguelikes, this game is made for you. 10/10
A roguelike where it's actually fun to start over if you lose. The replay value is top notch. Best to go in blind and avoid trailers and YouTube videos. Not knowing what's ahead is the best part. There are some crazy sections and it gets crazier with each update. How the developers continue to overdeliver for each new chapter is beyond me. It's one of those games that starts perfect, but somehow manages to constantly ramp up in horror, atmosphere, and challenge the further you go along. Nothing else on the market quite like this. My biggest gripe with the game is that it isn't as popular as it deserves to be. But it's also kind of nice having a smaller audience. One of my top 10 favorite games of all time, and #1 for replayabilty.
After 69 hours i can say that this game rocks, some of the most refined mechanics and controls I've ever experienced in any video game, all the little game modes are a fun distraction from the main game loop as well as having some pretty difficult ones to get a platinum medal, i was stuck on the Christmas level for a solid week and it was so satisfying once i beat it. I suggest going into this game completely blind and rarely look up anything, i had to look up the secret achievements and some perks to know more about them, but other than that just finding out how the game works blindly was fun and the game itself does a really good job at teaching you just enough and then letting you figure it out, no handhold just pure player input. Sound design is impeccable there is not much to add here, the audio in this game just wants to immerse you in its world and it does that really well, the background and noises set the mood for every zone you are in and everything just feels so fitting. The world building leaves you wondering and makes you feel like you are a tinny speck in this bizarre and twisted world, it also rewards you for exploring, with really good items that are very useful in the later areas or for lore reasons, i loved the little backrooms level and it even managed to scare me quite a bit, my favorite level by far is the ladder it's not just a reference to MGS, it's a really well made experience that at some point confused my brain and i couldn't tell if i was going up or down, i cant remember the last game that made me grip my mouse as hard or sweat as much as this game has it can get really stressful when you are the one playing its such a unique experience that you wont get in many other games and i highly recommend giving this game a try, i usually wait for steam sales but i just bought the game full price for myself and a friend, and I'll gladly do it again in the future. The last achievement i did was hard, not hard as in difficult, hard as in having to commit 50 crimes in a row "endangered achievement" was not nice. How could you make me do that to them. They trusted you. And you made me do it. Unforgivable.
Best game ever
I would have loved to play this game but i felt motion sick on the moving platforms and honestly i have a major skill issue so much that im afraid i wont play again otherwise if you love climbing with adventure i would recommend even with my problems i loved it.
Incredibly fun horror roguelike game that revolves around climbing. It's genuinely so fun once you get into it.
First game that almost made me throw up from stress 10/10
This game is amazing, such fun yet simple parkour gameplay and the aesthetic is really cool, the enemies are really well made and creepy especially the snake like monster in the abyss that thing is terrifying. The white hands that try to grab you are scary as hell too. A great horror roguelike and I cant recommend it enough. Quick sidenote but this game would be awesome to see come to VR.
you climb up, fall down, and die. 10/10 would get absorbed by a ever growing almost world ending liquid again.
