Excellent
One of the best games in its kind and certainly one of my favourites.
Highly highly highly recommend this game, speaking personally as a Warhammer Lore Master, I would state that the sense and scale narrowed down to a pure story about the "Rogue Trader" both contain rich, and incredibly detailed residings of the lore as a whole. No prior knowledge required about the franchise, as it's represented in a way which makes it easy too understand. The combat is both rich and powerful, making it very easy to "ramp" through the levels, and the possibility to adjust the difficulty level during the gameplay, saves difficult encounters. Overall, I highly recommend this game for anyone that's looking for a great game to play!
Great game, if you like CRPGs and 40k this was made for you. Lots of bugs and combat goes from hyper difficult to a cakewalk once you find your bearings, but the story is great and the game has a fantastic universe to immerse yourself in. Do yourself a favor and install the toybox mod immediately. 9/10!
40k.. turn based.. fun
Had way more fun than expected 150 hours on my first run. Story is fun and I came to really love some of the companions, well written for a CRPG.
TL;DR: 9/10 — A fantastic classic party RPG with great characters, story, and art, let down by a long-standing ending bug that cuts companion epilogues. Loved it, got briefly furious with it, still love it enough to replay it. Pros: Nice gameplay, engaging combat Great characters Fine story Beautiful graphics and art style ~90 hours of content that's genuinely worth it Cons: Can feel boring at times (played on Normal) Companion ending slides bug — still not fixed after 3 years Heads up: A lot of reading required — not a flaw, just know what you're getting into. A game that made me fall in love for 90 hours and hate it for 15 minutes. Nothing in between. Nice gameplay, despite being sometimes boring (played on Normal), great characters, a fine story, and beautiful graphics and art style. A lot of reading is required, but I still wholeheartedly recommend this game to anyone who loves classic party RPGs. BUT. For some reason, I got no companion slides in the ending. Imagine caring for your companions, wanting to know how their story ends, and getting nothing. It's apparently some bug, and the game is so good I'm willing to start a second playthrough immediately, trying to reach the proper ending — but the fact that such a critical thing hasn't been fixed in 3 years is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I was unable to think of anything positive for a good half hour because of it. But the game is still worth every minute I've spent on it, and every minute I will spend on it in the future. Chart your course, Rogue Trader — the Koronus Expanse is waiting for you too.
Great RPG so far. Rules seem to be based on Pathfinder. As such combat seems a little pedestrian and longwinded at first but becomes more tactical and interesting as the characters level and develop. Excellent evocation of the 40K universe and the narrative plays with the common tropes of it to quite dramatic effect.
It's difficult to get to grips with, but stick with it. This game certainly has some rough edges to the point where I bounced off this the first time I played it and put it to the back of the list - all sorts of systems are thrown at you with bare minimum to no explanation at all, Act 1 which basically functions as the game's tutorial takes a dozen or so hours to get through with some very repetitive combat, but I'm glad I came back to this to give it another go. Under the dirt there is a great gem game here - it's faithful to 40k as you'd expect and although this is a very text heavy game compared to the amount of voice acting, what I do love is the functionality of keywords, your past choices are highlighted, if you're new to 40k, all the weird and wonderful words are explained and given detail The character build complexity very quickly drowns you in options to customise each and every character, there's been many times where I've been tempted by who I want in my party each and every time a new companion joins, I've been spoiled for choice and speaking choices, the grim darkness of the far future is certainly here. There is an overwhelming amount of choices in this game, an often you're battling the morally grey vs the morally off-white hues of the universe you've come to know and love.
