Почему в этом симуляторе романов затесался какая-то там КОЛОТУШКА ВОЙНЫ СОРОКОТЫСЯЧНИК?

TLDR: Loved it in spite of some flaws. I give it an A-. Thanks Revan619 for your build spreadsheets! After many attempts to start the game, finally settled on a player character I liked. Glad I kept at it because I absolutely loved this game. First playthrough with the first 3 DLCs on Daring difficulty. Such a wide variety of skills to take, which was also to its detriment: I couldn't keep track of everyone's abilities. The overwhelming number of skills drove me to use a build guide (namely Revan's, and it was a godsend. I don't have the patience to scrutinize character builds so they probably saved the game for me). Revan's guides allowed me to get over the hump and find a build that matched what I wanted (a shotgun wielding Adeptes Arbites) progressing past the introduction. I thought the worldbuilding and dialog were superb. They did a wonderful job breathing life into the dark setting provided by GW. Good storyline, loved how it all got summarized at the end. I thought the companions' stories were all interesting. Absolutely loved Argenta. I far prefer the resource/empire management mechanic of Rogue Trader to that of the two Pathfinder titles. I also appreciate being able to save during combat. This was especially convenient for the combats that perpetually interrupted some big cutscene occasion. I particularly enjoyed the planet scanning and exploration. It reminded me a little of Starflight from so long ago. Some of the missions felt like an episode of Star Trek, which I enjoyed. It's not perfect though: the pacing of character progression is not good, you get too powerful too fast and the combat becomes trivial fairly early in the game. It got to the point where really only the last few fights in the game were a challenge. Of course there are the oft maligned space battles, which could be a little tedious, but not that bad. The ones in the last chapter really served no purpose other than to draw the game out. And while I thought the writing was good, sometimes the dialogues got a little chatty, sometimes unnecessarily so. Anywho, I've played now all three of Owlcat's epic RPGs. With KM I died by empire failure, WotR just became too much of a chore in turn-based so I eventually stopped playing. I have enjoyed RT the most by far. This is also the only one of the three titles I finished and disappointed there wasn't more. I purposely left a lot of DLC 3 untouched, wasn't that interested in the Lex Imperialis/ Space Doggy content from DLC 2 (I don't like animal companions in CRPGs). So once DLC 4 is released I will probably come back for another run.
Great RPG. Super easy if you min max. Still, looking up guides online is way faster than reading everything yourself.
Amazing.
Император защищает!
Really good, lots of stuff going on in this, so figuring out how to do everything is a heavy load. When you overcome the learning curve you are left with some great character building, ship building, universe management and decisions that matter constantly. This game is up there with the best turn based tactical RPGs. Yes there are bugs, sometimes stuff doesn't work as intended, some multiplayer desync issues, but even so, one of the all time greats. If you like building characters with tons of choices in skills and gear, this game is as good as it gets. Load screens could use speeding up.
