Fun
some of the most rewarding combat you can find in the genre, just wish they would focus more on missions and story (praying for genestealers)
GREAT GAME good for chilling and sweeting
good
This game tickles something in my brain, very good, its not the best, but It doesn't need to be, great weapon handling, great lobby design, great gameplay loop. BUUUUUT PLS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD FATSHARK, ADD MORE MAPS thank you
I have a 1k hours if I didnt like the game I would be a League of Legends player, Im not, that means Im happy
The good: This game has a short campaign that is really intended to immerse you into the lore. its a labor of love when it comes to that, Kudos to the voice actors, artists and the like that worked on this project first and foremost. The music is good as well. The enemies have memorable voice lines and death cries that ranges from horrifying to down right funny at times. It's casual fun at lower difficulities but there is room to get very nerdy with min/maxing for higher difficulties for those who really want to push themselves. There are a few different game modes past the 20 or so missions from the campaign that may or may not interest you. The bad: This game is poorly optimized, Period. Performance had to be addressed by me throwing everything to low and really going under the hood to maintain a stable 120 DLSS FPS count... and quite frankly, its a farcry from what you see in the trailers if you care to have a responsive gameplay like I do. It's a real shame. I have played the Skitarri class because that is what made me interested in the game and there is an argument to be said about "extra DLC class" having a bit of a power creep. if you just want to play casually the original class have a few more story cinematics tied to them but if you really want to min/max for higher difficulties and plan for the long haul, you might have to shell out a few more bucks to really enjoy the experience via one of their other classes least you limit your team's toolbox... but I would argue you could make it work without it as well. Just something to keep in mind. The Ugly: I know I said that the game was a work of love in its story and immersive property, but certainly not in the quality control of its 3D Assets. It wasn't uncommon for me to look around above my head only to find reused 3D assets that were clearly clipping through one another in their corners, janky UI elements that were not programmed right, and just... just... so much "jank" that I find atypical even for a small indie studio. That is not to say its breaking the immersion, but once you start seeing and experience the "ugly" this game has left to this day and explore the posts that were point those years ago, it leave a bitter taste in your mouth and its a real shame. Final Verdict (Or TLDR): If you liked games like Left 4 dead where 4 players Coop to survive some crazy levels with mobs rushing them with mini-bosses and bosses alike and that on top of it you like WH40k, I highly recommend. Jumping in there as 4 guardsman with base kit cranking up the difficulty until its downright impossible with current gear leads to downright hilarious, and definitely brutal experiences. On average, I would say if you can stomach optimizing the game for you rig a bit and are willing to face some jank for some casual fun, go for it, just don't take it too seriously and you'll be having a good time. P.S: There is crossplay, be ready to mute all the people with hot mics that Echoes their whole playthrough in your headphones.
